Saturday, June 17th: Rodriguez Tops Inaugural "Last Longer Bounty," "Spin To Win" Returns To Weekend

ICYMI: Last night's $150 No Limit Hold'em "Last Longer Bounty" ($8,000 GTD) had a field that was comprised of (56) total entries.  The overall sentiment from the players was very positive, as a new dynamic was introduced to an otherwise "untouched" game.  Even those that didn't reach the money (seven spots paid out) received a portion of the $2,750 in "bounties" that were awarded.  There were two "goal marks" that were designated to get a bounty, when the field reached 30% of total entries, and 20% of total entries.  After both of those points were reached, players focused on the real money at stack, with the money bubble bursting just before 11:30pm.  Nicholas Persad (Coconut Creek, FL) would be the first player to cash (in seventh place), and he would be followed by Alex Meadow and Albert Barney (in sixth and fifth respectively).  The discussion of deal then began with players four-handed, and after just a few moments, a chop would be agreed to.

  1. Rafael Rodriguez (Columbia) $1,300
  2. Steve Moreno (Miami, FL) $1,100
  3. Jared Carter (Pompano Beach, FL) $1,000
  4. Bryan Hurdle (Delray Beach, FL) $905
  5. Albert Barney (Pompano Beach, FL) $394
  6. Alex Meadow (Boca Raton, FL) $315
  7. Nicholas Persad (Coconut Creek, FL) $236

Tournaments: Two tournaments make up the day's schedule, both of which are "high hand eligible," which is a big deal, considering that they are worth a money wheel spin from 12:00pm-11:00pm.  The $100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo Bounty" ($3,000 GTD) gets underway at 11:00am (18,000 starting stack and 15 minute levels), followed by the $120 No Limit Hold'em ($8,000 GTD) at 6:00pm (25,000 starting stack, and 20/25 minute levels).

Promotions: The "standard" high hand promotions are in place for a good portion of the day/night, but the window from 12:00pm-11:00pm is what most all of the players have circled.  Players that have the qualifying high hand each hour during that time period will earn the opportunity to spin the money wheel.  This Wednesday promotion is returning to the weekend for the first time in a while, which should bring out the crowds.
