Wednesday, June 21st: Big Payouts In The $20,000 GTD, "Spin To Win" And $10,000 GTD Headline Schedule

ICYMI: "Tournament Tuesday" once again lived up to it's name, as both events cruised past their posted guarantees.  The $100 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD) saw registration close with a total of (53) entries, and an official prize pool of $4,081.  There were five spots that were scheduled to get paid, but as the final table played out, discussions of a deal began with seven players remaining.  The numbers sounded good to everyone in the group, and the tournament would conclude with a seven-way chop (results listed below).

  1. James Ensign (North Miami Beach, FL) $882
  2. Michael Dotson (Jupiter, FL) $872
  3. Vincent Trupia (Jupiter, FL) $867
  4. George Tardugno (Weston, FL) $537
  5. Christopher Zito (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $494
  6. Alan Dobrow (Melville, NY) $245
  7. Carl Handwerker (Pompano Beach, FL) $184
The evening event hosted another massive field, as the $130 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) ended up with a total of (231) entries, and a prize pool of $22,407.  A min-cash in the tournament would earn players $155, but it was the $5,283 first place prize that everyone had their eyes on.  As the money was reached, and action played down to the final table, numerous Isle Poker notables earned themselves another tournament cash (Michael Gutterman, Changfei Cui, Chad Millward, Lisa Teebagy, Guillermo Irving, Peter Fellows, and Tom Gity).  Those players fell short of the final table, which actually played down to three-handed action.  With such large payouts up top, this particular tournament usually gets chopped five or six-handed (at the least).  The discrepancy between stack sizes didn't allow such a big chop last night, but things would eventually end in a three-way deal (with results listed below).
  1. Julian Wohlgemuth (Boynton Beach, FL) $4,482
  2. Karen Duffy (Delray Beach, FL) $3,969
  3. Arthur Rodriguez (Pembroke Pines, FL) $2,837
  4. Alan Dobrow (Melville, NY) $1,397
  5. Tuan Pham (West Palm Beach, FL) $1,079
  6. Perla Ojeda (Miami, FL) $894
  7. Melissa Mancini (Oakland Park, FL) $762
  8. Maxim Bejelos (Boca Raton, FL) $650
  9. Bradford Greely (Lake Worth, FL) $528
  10. Justin Danzansky (Deerfield Beach, FL) $461
Tournaments: Today's tournament slate has two events, the first of which begins at 11:00am ($100 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD).  The tournament structure has players sitting down to starting stacks of 25,000 units, and playing (20) minute levels throughout the afternoon.  The "Monster Stack" is then followed by the $60 No Limit Hold'em ($10,000 GTD).  Also one of the more popular events with the players, the $10,000 guaranteed tournament boasts a structure with 12,000 starting stacks, and (20) minute levels.

Promotions: The high hand promotions are in full swing from the moment the doors open this morning, with the "Turbo High Hands" ($100 awarded every 10 minutes from 9:00am-12:00pm, with rollovers) distributing money at a rapid pace.  The transition at 12:00pm begins the "Spin To Win" promotion, which awarded over $11,000 in promotional prize money last week (over a span of eleven hours).  It's the high hand promotion that makes all others jealous, and affords those that have a qualifying high hand (awarded every 30 minutes), an opportunity to spin the ever-popular "Money Wheel."  The total amount awarded...along with hourly breakdown, will be published tomorrow afternoon, here on the blog.
