Tuesday, October 17th: Accardi Goes Back-To-Back, Three Events On Isle Open Schedule

ICMYI: The opening event of yesterday's schedule was the (Event #9) $175 No Limit Hold'em Seniors' Championship 50+ ($8,000 GTD), which brought out many of Isle Poker Room's most notables players.  Names like Jeffrey Silverstein, Evan Teitelbaum, Nancy Thomas, Daniel Genacthe, Theo Lawson, and numerous others made up the field.  When registration closed, there would be a total of (67) entries, and an official prize pool of $9,380.  Nine players were scheduled to reach the money in the tournament, along with a $3,284 first place prize (posted).  The event ended in a three-way deal, with George Miro (Royal Palm Beach, FL) taking home the trophy, and $2,535.
  1. George Miro (Royal Palm Beach, FL) $2,535
  2. Theo Lawson (Miami, FL) $2,067

  9. Luis Santoni (Pembroke Pines, FL) $328
The storyline of the day came from the evening tournament (Event #10 | $150 No Limit Hold'em | $25,000 GTD), as Salvatore Accardi (Pembroke Pines, FL) headed a final table chop of the event.  The name may sound familiar, and if that's the case, it's because Accardi won the evening tournament the night prior (Event #8).  Salvatore bested a field of (294) entries to earn his second title of the series, putting himself in a special group of players that have accomplished that feat.  The $33,810 prize pool allowed for the ten-way deal to offer prizes over $1,786 for everyone involved.
  1. Salvatore Accardi (Pompano Beach, FL) $3,287
  2. Julio Graham (Hollywood, FL) $3,065
  3. Daniel Shortley (Lake Worth, FL) $2,836

Tournaments: The 2017 Isle Open schedule sees it's only non-no limit event to start the day's action, with Event #11 $150 Limit Omaha 8B Hi/Lo ($5,000 GTD) beginning at 11:00am.  The tournament, which always attracts a nice sized field, is structured with starting stacks of 12,000 units.  The levels start at (20) minutes while registration is open (Levels 1-8), transitioning to (25) minutes thereafter.

Just an hour after Event #11 begins, the cards will be in the air for a satellite that was "added" to the Isle Open after the schedule was released.  This Thursday hosts one of the premier events of the series ($2,500 No Limit Hold'em Single-Day Series $100,000 GTD), and this afternoon's satellite gives players the opportunity to get into the tournament for a fraction of the price (and rake-free).  The $510 No Limit Hold'em Satellite Into Single-Day Series (Rake-Free) starts at 12:00pm, is structured with 14,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (25) minutes.  There are five seats guaranteed, meaning at least a handful of the players in the event will play in the $2,500 NLH Single-Day Series for a quarter of the buy-in.

The third event of the day (Event #12) begins at 6:00pm, and is a $60 No Limit Hold'em tournament, with an $8,000 guarantee prize pool.  The event sees players sitting down to starting stacks of 14,000 units, and levels that last (20) minutes over the course of the evening.  There is an option add-on at the end of registration (end of Level 8), with players receiving 10,000 units for $20 (100% of the money from add-ons goes towards the prize pool).

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-3:00am (Friday morning), players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.
