Isle Classic Event #10 (Day 2): Newman Eliminated On Final Hand Of Level 27

2017 Isle Classic | Event #10
$360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 28 (Blinds 30,000/60,000/5,000)
Total Event #10 Entries: 679
Event #10 Players Remaining: 6

Stewart Newman (Coral Gables, FL) was hampered by a short stack for most of the final table, ending up exiting the tournament in 7th place ($6,555).

Just as the final seconds were ticking off the clock for Level 27, Jerry Limber opened the button to 115,000.  Jason Holzberg made the call out of the small blind, followed by Stewart Newman three-bet shoving out of the big.  Limber quickly folded his hand, but Holzberg wasn't going to release so easily, asking for an exact count.  Newman's all-in was for 675,000, and one Jason heard the amount, he verbalized a call.  It would be the A J of Holzberg against Newman's K♣ Q♣, with Jason getting the A♠ 7 7flop.  Newman would need to run out perfect in order to win, and once the 5♠ fell on the turn, he'd be drawing dead.  Newman would earn $6,555 for his seventh place finish, with players beginning talks of a chop after his departure.  Those deal discussions would quickly fall apart after the ICM numbers were read aloud, so the cards are once again in the air.
