Wednesday, February 22nd: Palacio Wins, Wheel Spins, Satellites Begin

Two more Battles At The Beach events are in the books, as yesterday afternoon hosted the first non-no limit tournament of the series.  The $250 Limit Omaha Hi/Lo 8B ($10,000 GTD) attracted (52) total entries, official ending with a prize pool of $10,660.  Seven places were being paid in the event, with the posted first place prize over $4,150.  Once the money was reached, and Errol Massey (Queens, NY) was eliminated in 7th place, the remaining six players agreed to a deal.  Michael Boykin (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) was the declared winner, earning $2,356 for the "winner's share."  Also part of the deal were Dennis Gilman ($1,868), Brian Kicklighter ($1,834), Patty Vorbeck ($1,427), Stephen Reid ($1,275), and Allen Green ($1,173).

Event 6 Winner Pedro Palacio (Delray Beach, FL)

Yesterday's evening event, the "Battles" version of the "Tuesday $10K" ($40 No Limit Hold'em $10,000 GTD), once again drew big crowds.  The tournament field grew to (370) total entries, and boasted a prize pool of $12,470.  As this tournament commonly does, last night's event ended in a final table chop, with Isle Poker notables Pedro Palacio (Delray Beach, FL) taking home top billing ($1,504).  The results of the ten-way deal, along with the other places to be paid will be posted under the BATB results link (listed by event).

If it's Wednesday, that means that the "Spin To Win" high hand promotion is front and center, running from 12:00pm-11:00pm.  We saw another $5,000 winner last week, adding to the incredible amount of "jackpot" size winners this promotion has had.  The first satellite of the series begins at 11:00am, as the $175 buy-in tournament guarantees (10) seats into the Battles At The Beach $1,500 Main Event.  There is also one regular event on the schedule (Event 7), a $100 No Limit Hold'em w/ $25 Bounties ($18,000 GTD), beginning at 6:00pm.

- Players receive 12,000 in tournament chips
- Levels are (20) minutes in length
- We will award as many seats as the prize fund allows.  Any additional prize money will go to the player on the bubble in the form of cash.  The most cash that can be awarded in any satellite is $1,499.

6:00pm - Event 7 (Battles At The Beach) $100 No Limit Hold'em Deep Stack Turbo Bounty $18,000 GTD

- Players receive 18,000 in tournament chips
- All late registrants and re-entries receive a full stack
- Level are (15) minutes in length
- Late and re-entries for the first (10) levels
- Optional add-on at the end of Level 10 ($25 for 10,000 units), 100% goes towards the prize pool)
