Sunday, May 28th: Another $10,000 GTD, And "Turbo High Hands" Continue The Weekend's Festivities

ICYMI: While the $2,000 high hand promotion was the "headline" of the day, there were still two tournaments that played out yesterday.  The afternoon tournament ($100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo" w/ $25 Bounties $3,000 GTD) began at 10:00am, and once the registration window closed, a total of (39) entries made up the $3,108 prize pool ($2,133 prize pool and $975 bounty pool).  Isle Poker tournament regular Alfonso Perez (Coconut Creek, FL) made a heads up deal with Vincent Siena (Pompano Beach, FL), with both players walking away with over $600 (and Perez earning the "first place finish" on his resume).

  1. Alfonso Perez (Coconut Creek, FL) $690
  2. Vincent Siena (Pompano Beach, FL) $606
  3. Barry Carvin (Deerfield Beach, FL) $431
  4. Phillip Tuttle (Delray Beach, FL) $235
  5. Stanton Drazen (Boynton Beach, FL) $171
The evening event saw another large guarantee on a "daily" tournament, with a $15,000 guaranteed prize pool on the $120 No Limit Hold'em event.  That number was eclipsed long before registration closed, with (210) entries making up a $17,850 prize pool.  A total of (27) spots would reach the money, with everyone's eyes on the $4,338 posted first place prize.  While there were numerous notables that cashed in the event (Luis Guarda, Michael Weinberg, Jerrold Solov, and Omar Sader, Thomas Millward, and Daniel Cruz), many new names made up the final table results (outside of Rafael Ramos).
  1. Edwin Vasconcelos (Daytona Beach, FL) $2,357
  2. Michael Sheinberg (Miami, FL) $2,339
  3. Vincent Green (Boynton Beach, FL) $2,226
  4. Matthew Sloan (Lake Worth, FL) $1,897
  5. Devin Weinberg (Delray Beach, FL) $1,560
  6. Rafael Ramos (Cape Coral, FL) $1,483
  7. Tom Millward (Boca Raton, FL) $607
  8. Ilan Hadida (Boca Raton, FL) $519
  9. Corey Lieblein (Brighton, MA) $434
  10. Daniel Cruz (Boca Raton, FL) $375

Tournaments: There is one tournament on the schedule as the Memorial Day Weekend winds down, with the $150 No Limit Hold'em ($10,000 GTD) beginning at 12:00pm.  With most everyone enjoying a weekday off tomorrow, today's field size should be a little larger than Sunday's we've seen in the past.  The tournament has a very solid structure, with a starting stack of 20,000 units, and (25) minute levels played throughout.

Promotions: Outside of the "standard" high hands during the day, the "Turbo High Hands" return, with $300 awarded to qualifying high hands from 2:00pm-9:00pm (every 15 minutes).

- Players will start with 20,000 in tournament chips
- Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
