Wednesday, June 28th: Fourteen Hours Of Promos, And A $10,000 Guarantee To Top It Off

ICYMI: It's earned the name "Tournament Tuesday" for a reason, as whatever events are in the afternoon and evening time slots seem to do "better" than most other weekdays.  Yesterday, it was the afternoon event that saw the rise in field size, as (50) entries made up the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD).  The $3,850 prize pool would be broken down and spread across seven pay spots, as three players had to walk away from the final table empty handed.  Dalton Cormier (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) eventually found himself atop the payouts, earning what looks to be his first ever recorded cash, worth $890.

  1. Dalton Cormier (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $890
  2. Lawrence Hawkins (Lake Worth, FL) $760
  3. Sara Azmi (Aventura, FL) $678
  4. Alan Dobrow (Melville, NY) $631
  5. Steven Little (Lincolnton, GA) $487
  6. Martin Kaplan (Wellington, FL) $231
  7. Arlene Vazquez (Parkland, FL) $173
The storyline coming from the evening event ($130 No Limit Hold'em $12,000 GTD) wasn't in regards to the field size, but rather the accomplishment reached by Alan Dobrow.  The tournament was comprised of (85) total entries, meaning (11) players would earn their respective share of the $12,000 prize pool.  Richard Cooper (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) was the tournament's winner ($3,870), with Alan Dobrow earning runner-up honors, worth $2,340.  Dobrow earned the "tournament double," reaching the final table of both tournaments, and notching a fourth place and second place finish.  It was well over (12) hours of tournament poker for Alan over the course of the day, but the combined earnings would be just short of $3,000.
  1. Richard Cooper (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $3,870
  2. Alan Dobrow (Melville, NY) $2,340
  3. Michael Valenzano (Pompano Beach, FL) $1,455
  4. Steven Little (Lincolnton, GA) $984
  5. Larry Stoddard (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $750
  6. Geoffrey Phillips (Wellington, FL) $600
  7. Franklin Michel (Miramar, FL) $498
  8. Anthony Casas (Miami, FL) $420
  9. Antoinette Catalanotto (Tamarac, FL) $387
  10. Saul Stahlhammer (Pompano Beach, FL) $360

Tournaments: Today's tournament slate has two events, the first of which begins at 11:00am ($100 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD).  The tournament structure has players sitting down to starting stacks of 25,000 units, and playing (20) minute levels throughout the afternoon.  The "Monster Stack" is then followed by the $60 No Limit Hold'em ($10,000 GTD).  Also one of the more popular events with the players, the $10,000 guaranteed tournament boasts a structure with 12,000 starting stacks, and (20) minute levels.

Promotions: The high hand promotions are in full swing from the moment the doors open this morning, with the "Turbo High Hands" ($100 awarded every 10 minutes from 9:00am-12:00pm, with rollovers) distributing money at a rapid pace.  The transition at 12:00pm begins the "Spin To Win" promotion, which awarded over $11,000 in promotional prize money last week (over a span of eleven hours).  It's the high hand promotion that makes all others jealous, and affords those that have a qualifying high hand (awarded every 30 minutes), an opportunity to spin the ever-popular "Money Wheel."  The total amount awarded...along with hourly breakdown, will be published tomorrow afternoon, here on the blog.
