Drew Epstein (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)

The current chip leader through six flights is Ana Clara Freitas, who bagged 444,500 during last night's Flight 1F.  While that seems like an unattainable number for players in this flight, it's when you least think something's going to happen in poker, that a scenario occurs.  Below are the players that are in reach of the lead, with just over (35) minutes to play:

Drew Epstein - 225,000

David Rauf - 215,000

"August $150,000" (Flight 1G): Satellite Reminder ($2,500 Single-Day Series), Ten Free Seats Awarded Tomorrow

Level 13 (Blinds 1,000/2,000/300)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 136
Flight 1G Players Remaining: 28

It's been something that followers of the blog have been reminded of each morning, but it's important that players know the proceedings that begin tomorrow (surrounding the $2,500 NLH Single-Day Series).

The event itself is a $2,500 buy-in NLH tournament, that is scheduled as a one-day event (August 22nd).  Players receive 100,000 unit starting stacks, and will navigate levels of (30) minutes throughout the event.

While this price-point buy-in is not for everyone, there are opportunities to get into the tournament for a fraction of the cost.  There is a $275 buy-in satellite on Monday at 11:00am, with one seat guaranteed to the following days tournament.  It will take ten players in the satellite to get to that one seat, which will be reached before the cards are even in the air...

As (10) seats will be awarded to high-hand winners, beginning tomorrow at 10:00am.  The first ten winners (rollovers apply to cash prize, but not to satellite seats) of the high hands from 10:00am on, with receive entry into the satellite.

"August $150,000" (Flight 1G): Bob Bass Avoids The Hook, Doubles Through Fitzgerald

"August $150,000 GTD"
$360 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
Level 12 (Blinds 600/1,200/200)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 136
Flight 1G Players Remaining: 43

Bob Bass (Florida)

Passing Table 9, we'd see Bob Bass all-in for 21,000 on a board reading A♣ K 9♠ 7♣, with Gary Fitzgerald contemplating a call.  Fitzgerald, who is one of the current chip leaders, reluctantly tossed in the chips for a call.  Bass would turn over A♠ J, with his kicker dominating the A 6 of Fitzgerald.  Bobby was able to fade Gary's win/chop outs, and ended up doubling through, now over 70,000.  Even after absorbing the loss, Fitzgerald still sits with close to double the chip average (which sits at 64,000).

Gary Fitzgerald - 123,000
Bobby Bass - 73,000

"August $150,000" (Flight 1G): Big Stacks Beginning To Emerge Across The Field

"August $150,000 GTD"
$360 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
Level 11 (Blinds 500/1,000/100)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 136
Flight 1G Players Remaining: 49

Michael Graffeo (Boca Raton, FL)

With this being the largest of the starting flights to this point, it's no surprise that some larger stacks are beginning to pop up across the field.  One of those stacks belongs to Michael Graffeo (Boca Raton, FL), winner of this year's WPT DeepStacks $1,100 Main Event during the Lucky Hearts Poker Open ($290,687).  While significant, that result makes up less than half of his career earnings, which currently stands at $609,637.  Michael has just over 115,000 in front of him, and joins a group at the top of the leaderboard, that also includes:

Michael Brand - 135,000
Gary Fitzgerald - 130,000
Manny Perez - 125,000

"August $150,000" (Flight 1G): Updated Chip Counts From The Field

"August $150,000 GTD"
$360 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
Level 9 (Blinds 400/800/100)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 136
Flight 1G Players Remaining: 64

Terry Siele (Delray Beach, FL)

Returning from break, there is a new leader in the field, and his name is Terry Siele (Delray Beach, FL).  When the cards were back in the air for Level 9, Terry returned to just over 100,000, but has increased that by 30,000 just (15) minutes into play.

Terry Siele - 135,000
Edward Mandel - 80,000
Bob Bass - 68,000
Andre Rakusa - 66,000
Michael Brand - 62,000
Jakub Paulik - 48,000
David Ward - 47,000
Raminder Singh - 40,000

"August $150,000" (Flight 1G): Brand Leading The Way, Looking For That Breakout Score

"August $150,000 GTD"
$360 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
Level 8 (Blinds 300/600/75)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 131

Michael Brand (Boca Raton, FL)

Players are about to head on their second break of the day, and will be returning to Level 9, and blinds of 300/600/75.  With Jakub Paulik dipping down from his earlier number, it looks like Michael Brand is now the chip leader, sitting with just over 100,000.  Once the cards are in the air for Level 9, it will signify the close of registration for the flight, leaving players with just tonight's 6:00pm flight to try and bag chips.

Pending Brand is able to go on and bag chips, most any cash outside of a min-cash will be the largest of his career.  Michael has three results on his Hendon Mob resume, two of which came in 2015, and one earlier this year, during the Battles At The Beach ($360 No Limit Hold'em - 80th Place $781).

"August $150,000" (Flight 1G): Ruberto Wastes No Time After Sitting Down

"August $150,000 GTD"
$360 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
Level 7 (Blinds 250/500/50)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 118

Anthony Ruberto (Miami, FL)

Jaki Cohen (Dania, FL) was seen exiting Table 1, heading to the cage to re-enter this flight.  He was short-stacked, and eliminated by one of the newest entrants into the flight, Anthony Ruberto (Miami, FL).  Tony really needs no introduction, earning at least $130,000 via tournaments in seven of the last eight years.  He's averaged $246,000 in earnings over that span, and is coming off another five-figure score just over two weeks ago.

Tony recently reached the final table of the 2017 Florida State Poker Championships $1,500 Main Event, finishing in fifth place for $34,689.  The result brought his earnings above $2,075,000, and helps him crack the top thirty in the all-time money list for the state of Florida (a list that contains many of the best players in the world).

"August $150,000" (Flight 1G): Paulik Coolers Randall To Eclipse The Century Mark

"August $150,000 GTD"
$360 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
Level 6 (Blinds 200/400/50)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 116

Jakub Paulik (Florida)

On the turn of a board reading 9♠ 5 4♠ 8♠, Martin Randall would check from the small blind, with Manny Perez betting 1,225.  Jakub Paulik would be next to act, and after he flatted, Randall would push forward a large check-raise to 40,000 (enough to cover both of his opponents).  Perez thought for a solid two minutes, eventually talking himself into a fold.  Regardless of his holdings, Perez was happy to have released, as Paulik snap-called and turned over A♠ 7♠.  Randall looked disgusted when he saw that hand, as he tabled K♠ 3♠, knowing he was drawing dead.  After the river was placed on the felt, the dealer would cut-down Paulik's stack (50,925), and extract that amount from Randall.

Jakub would become one of the first players in the field to eclipse the 100,000 mark, coincidentally during the same level that Nigel Murray become the first in the century club yesterday afternoon.

Jakub Paulik - 110,000
Martin Randall - 4,000

"August $150,000" (Flight 1G): Singh Takes His Seat In The Field, Joins The Late-Reg Group

"August $150,000 GTD"
$360 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
Level 5 (Blinds 150/300/25)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 92

Raminder Singh (Delray Beach, FL)

Raminder Singh (Delray Beach, FL) quickly became a familiar face on the blog, from the moment of it's inception...and it's not hard to see why.  After recording his first cash in 2006, Singh would go nine years totaling over $160,000 in tournament earnings.  Then came 2016, a year that would change Singh's outlook on poker moving forward.  He amassed over $352,000 in live earnings, including two runner-up finished (one at Hard Rock, and one here during the Battle At The Beach), both worth over $100,000.

Raminder then went on to show that those results were no fluke, as he continued to ravage tournaments to start this year, picking up a WSOPC Main Event ring during the Palm Beach Kennel Club series in February ($168,995).  Singh still has work to do if he wants to eclipse last year's number, but he still has an impressive $218,804 in earnings this calendar year.

Singh was a late arrival, and was seated at Table 13, which also hosts others that decided to late-reg this flight:

Alfonso Perez
Jesse Hatfield
Zoltan Czinkota
Chandan Mathur
Rami Ezra
Jose Parra
Manny Perez
Michael Graffeo
Ory Hen

"August $150,000" (Flight 1G): Keeping Up With The Sports Theme

"August $150,000 GTD"
$360 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
Level 4 (Blinds 100/200)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 77

Daniel Pearlman (Hollywood, FL)

Just like David Ward in his Celtics gear, whenever you see Daniel Pearlman (Hollywood, FL) in an event, he's usually sporting a Giants jersey.  This particular jersey probably holds a place in his heart, as he was wearing it during his biggest score, which came earlier this year.  Pearlman finished runner-up in the $1,675 NLH WSOPC Main Event at Cherokee, taking home over $196,000.  Daniel has over $373,000 in live tournament earnings, as well as online earnings over $30,000.  It's been a breakout year for Pearlman (over $327,000 in 2017 earnings), who never had more than $14,545 earnings in any given tournament year prior.

Daniel headlines the second group of notables in the field, many of which trying to find a bag, after prior efforts fell short:

Matthew Erich
Andrew Rakusa
Luke Poljak
Joseph Mancuso
Shaun Glennon
Jakub Paulik
Robert Urspruch

Players will be taking their first break of the day at the end of this level, returning to Level 5 (and blinds of 150/300/25).

"August $150,000" (Flight 1G): Passing Time While Waiting For Celtics Season

"August $150,000 GTD"
$360 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
Level 3 (Blinds 75/150)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 65

David Ward (Miami, FL)

He may live in what was formerly known at "Wade County," but that doesn't deter David Ward from rocking the Celtic's green whenever he can.  David has a lot to look forward too as a Boston Celtics fan, considering the season they had in 2016-17, and the off-season addition of Gordon Hayward.  Ward still has two months before the season starts, so he's focusing on one of his other passions, trying to bag chips for tomorrow's Day 2.  Ward has over $108,000 in career earnings on his resume, which was started in a big way, with a $61,000 win during the 2016 "Big Slick" at Seminole Hard Rock ($350 No Limit Hold'em).

@NoLimitCeltic is just one of the many notables currently in the field, headlining an early list that consists of names like:

Drew Epstein
Elias Nassif
Kenneth Bruno
Preecha Taepakdee
Allan Bieler
Nagui Yassa
Guillermo Hamilton
Marc Sacheli
Trent Smith

(POMPANO BEACH, FL) August 16th, 2017 - The Isle Casino Poker Room is proud to announce the first installment of the "Single-Day Series," a $2,500 No Limit Hold'em event to be held on Tuesday, August 22nd.

Months of discussions and planning have come to fruition, with a tournament that offers a higher buy-in, and convenience of a one-day event.  The Isle Poker Room "brain trust" listened to player's comments and suggestions throughout the planning process, and have put forth a product that is sure to be well-received by the poker community.

This initial tournament begins at 12:00pm on August 22nd, and offers a great structure for an event of it's kind.  Entrants begin with 100,000 unit starting stacks, and will be playing (30) minute levels throughout the tournament.  Registration is open through the first eight levels (closing at approximately 4:20), allowing those that choose to enter late the opportunity to still sit down with twenty big blinds.

There have been commitments made by numerous players in regards to attendance for this opening event of the "series," all interested in taking home a five-figure score in less than (14) hours.  Beyond those already to have stated their intention to play, there will be a satellite run for the event on Monday, August 21st.

The satellite will have a $275 buy-in (NLH), and guarantees one seat into the following day's tournament.  While one seat will be awarded through the guarantee, players can expect multiple seats up for grabs once registration closes for the satellite, as (10) seats will be awarded to that satellite via high hand winners on Sunday, August 20th.

The promotion that normally runs on Sunday, begins at 10:00am, and awards $100 to the qualifying high hand every (10) minutes.  In addition to the $100 cash prize, the first ten high hand winners will also be awarded a seat into Monday's $275 No Limit Hold'em Satellite into the $2,500 NLH "Single-Day Series."

It's the beginning of something special here at the Isle Casino Poker Room, with even more announcements to follow in the coming weeks regarding the "Single-Day Series."
