(From right to left) Jason Young, William Novotny, Alan Munoz (Alan's girlfirend Serena),
Vitaly Shafran, Leroy Grant, and Ian Cohen

Just before the break, players agreed to take a look at the ICM numbers, and began breaking down their stacks to be counted by staff.  The stack sizes were locked into the ICM calculator, and once the numbers were read aloud to the players, everyone agreed to their share.  Posted below are the numbers for each player, with Ian Cohen the tournament's "declared winner:"

  1. Ian Cohen - $13,555
  2. Jason Young - $12,174
  3. Vitaly Shafran - $10,932
  4. William Novotny - $10,126

"August $100,000" (Day 2): 7th Place - Gelley ($3,706)

"August $100,000 GTD"
$150 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
Level 30 (Blinds 60,000/120,000/20,000)
Total Entries: 1,126
Players Remaining: 6

David Gelley (Boca Raton, FL) 7th Place - $3,706

David Gelley (Boca Raton, FL) pulled off a pretty impressive feat, reaching back-to-back final tables in the "August $150,000" (last week) and this "August $100,000."  His run looked to be headed even deeper, but would get very unlucky in his final hand.  Gelley would be all-in with 8♠ 8, against the A♣ 10♣ of Al Munoz.  It was be an action flop with the dealer fanning out J♣ 10♠ 8♣, giving Gelley a set, and Munoz the nut-flush draw.  Munoz would end up hitting the flush on the river, eliminating David in 7th place ($3,706).

"August $100,000" (Day 2): 8th Place - Williams ($2,938)

"August $100,000 GTD"
$150 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
Level 29 (Blinds 50,000/100,000/15,000)
Total Entries: 1,126
Players Remaining: 7

Russel Williams (Port St. Lucie, FL) 8th Place - $2,938

Ian Cohen would shove for just under twenty big blinds, and after action folded to Russell Williams, he would call for less.  The blinds released their hands, and it would be the A 8 of Williams against the 8 8♠ of Cohen.  The board would run out Q♣ 3 5♠ 2 5, and Williams would be eliminated in eight place, taking home $2,938.

George Novo (Longwood, FL) 9th Place - $2,178

George Novo (Longwood, FL) lasted only two hands at the final table, as he would shove his sub-ten big blind stack from the button, and would be called by David Gelley.  Novo would be ahead with A 7 against Gelley's Q♣ 5♣, but David would hit a queen during the runout, making Novo the first player to depart from the final table ($2,178).

Jason Young (Suffern, NY)

Players were informed just a few moments ago, that the next break (which is in just over an hour), will be their dinner break.  The dinner break will last for (45) minutes (from 6:15-7:15pm), and will be the only extended break of the day.

Jason Young (Suffern, NY) came into Day 2 with a stack that was in the top third of those returning, but began the day trending in the wrong direction.  A few levels into the money, Young was all-in for just over 125,000, and at risk for his tournament.  Jason was flipping with A K against 10♠ 10♣, and was fortunate to flop an ace, which ended up being good enough to win the hand (he made two pair on the turn for good measure).  From that point on, it's been a steady rise for the WSOP bracelet winner, now sitting with the largest stack in the field.

Jason Young - 1,500,000

"August $100,000" (Day 2): Some New Names Up Top

Russell Williams - 1,100,000
Ian Cohen - 1,100,000
Alan Munoz - 900,000
Matthew Ehrlich - 880,000
Jay Feierstadt - 780,000

Rafael Fernandes (pictured left) and Claudemir Osorio

Claudemir Osorio and Rafael Fernandes traveled together from the Tampa-area to this tournament, and both succeeded in their first goal (bagging chips).  Rafael bagged 187,000 for Day 2, with Osorio coming into the day short of chip average, with 112,000.

On the money bubble, Rafael got it in with K♠ K versus K K♣, having his opponent covered.  The board would run out 10 9 2Q 5♣ though, and Rafael would be left with just over 60,000.  Both players have seen success since that point though, with Osorio well above chip average (650,000), and Fernandes right on the number (430,000).  The pair are very accomplished tournament players, and seemed poised to make a deep run, something neither has experienced here at the Isle Poker Room.

Matthew Ehrlich (Garden City, FL)

Matthew Ehrlich's shirt isn't the only eye-popping thing at his table...his chip stack is also raising some eyebrows.  Ehrlich came into Day 2 fifth in chips (296,000), and has spent a majority of his day increasing that number.  Although the action in the hand was missed, Ehrlich just won a massive pot to eclipse the 1,000,000 chip mark, leading the field by a pretty large margin.

Ehrlich is back in action after a short time off, having earned over $100,000 in tournament cashes from 2007-2010, but then having a gap with no results from 2011-2015.  Matthew won a tournament earlier this year at Hard Rock ($350 No Limit Hold'em Bounty - $4,000), and is clearly "back."

Matthew, along with the remaining (54) players, will be heading on their second break of the day (at the end of this level).  Action will resume in Level 23, with blinds of 10,000/20,000/3,000 (375,000 chip average).

Total Entries: 1,126

Evan Teitelbaum (Parkland, FL)

At Table 3, Evan Teitelbaum (Parkland, FL) opened the action with a raise to 33,000.  Bob McLaughlin had just doubled up the hand prior, and decided he wanted to try for back-to-back doubles, three-bet shoving for 127,000.  After getting the exact count, Teitelbaum would make the call, seeing that he was racing for a pot worth over twenty bigs.  Evan's 2♠ 2 held a slight lead against the A K of McLaughlin, but the 10♠ 4♣ 2 flop would give him an all but insurmountable lead.  McLaughlin was drawing dead on the turn, eliminated from play in 64th place ($361), while Teitelbaum chipped up to 470,000.

Evan Teitelbaum - 470,000

Thomas Walker (Pompano Beach, FL)

Once the money bubble burst, the eliminations came fast and furious, with almost half of the field departing in span of two hours.  Now that things have slowed down (and we use that term lightly), a scan of the field has yielded some of the larger stacks remaining:

Matthew Ehrlich - 660,000
Fedner Oralien - 660,000
Jay Feierstadt - 640,000
Ian Cohen - 620,000
Vitaly Shafran - 580,000
