Monday, November 20th: The First Leg Of A Thanksgiving Week "Superfecta"

ICYMI: Sunday's tournament action started with a $150 No Limit Hold'em event, which got underway at 12:00pm.  After eight levels (and a break that followed) of play, registration would close with (28) entries, and a prize pool of $3,220.  Once the payouts were posted, players still remaining would learn that four spots would reach the money, with first place scheduled to take home $1,450.  Those posted payouts would be altered, with the clock being paused after the money bubble burst, and the remaining players agreeing to a four-way deal.

  1. Gregory Masterson (Chicago, IL) $937
  2. Francois Gagne (Hillsboro Beach, FL) $824
  3. Paul Efron (Coconut Creek, FL) $791
  4. Jacque Douchette (Lake Worth, FL) $668
At 6:00pm, the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Hard Stop, ICM Chop" ($2,500 GTD) began, and would see registration close with (30) entries.  That would equate to a prize pool of $3,060, and although the tournament was scheduled to end in an ICM chop, players decided on a even deal when three remained.
  1. Randall Buttner (East Meadow, NY) $907
  2. Anthony Vulpis (Pompano Beach, FL) $907
  3. Brian Levine (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $907
  4. Robert Kuznietz (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $339

Tournaments: The opening event of Thanksgiving week is the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo Bounty" ($2,000 GTD), which gets underway at 11:00am.  The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 18,000 units, and levels that last (15) minutes throughout the event.  There is an optional add-on at the end of registration (Level 10), with $25 seeing a return of 10,000 units (100% of the add-on money goes towards the prize pool).

The evening tournament is what we are calling the "first leg" of the Thanksgiving week superfecta, as four "special" events make up the schedule.  The cards get in the air at 6:00pm, for the $130 No Limit Hold'em event, which boasts a $20,000 guaranteed prize pool.  The tournament is structured with 16,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (20) minutes.

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted that starting November 1st, players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand!!!  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
