Saturday, March 17th: Recapping Friday's Battles At The Beach Action, As The Weekend Continues On

ICYMI: Friday's Battles At The Beach schedule started with Event #4, which was an $80 No Limit Hold'em tournament, boasting a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool.  After eight levels of open registration, the field would close with (130) entries, and a prize pool of $10,000.  A total of seventeen players would reach the money in the event, with action continuing through the money bubble.  After one elimination at the final table, the nine remaining players agreed to a chop (basically even across down the line), with Charles Horton (Clewiston, FL) awarded the trophy.  Full results from the final table are listed below:

The guarantee was doubled for the evening event, as Event #5 ($150 No Limit Hold'em) offered up a $20,000 posted number.  The field would be comprised of (164) entries, with (21) players hoping to grab their share of the official $20,000 prize pool.  While it wasn't as large of a deal as the afternoon event that came before it, Event #5 ended in a heads-up chop between Barton Taylor (Miramar, FL) and Andrew Davey (Pompano Beach, FL).  Taylor did have one tournament win on his resume coming in (and Isle Poker recurring event), but the first place finish was his first in an Isle Poker major.

Tournaments: The 2018 Battles At The Beach schedule continues with it's first set of Saturday events, starting at 11:00am with Event #6, which is a $100 No Limit Hold'em event (with a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool).  The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 14,000 units, and levels that last (20) minutes over the course of the afternoon.  Registration is open through Level 8 (and the break that follows), which sees the entry window close just before 2:50pm.

 The first non-no limit hold'em event of the series sits in the 6:00pm time slot, as those that fancy the four card variety (PLO) will be arriving for Event #7.  The $175 Pot Limit Omaha tournament is labeled as a "Double Green Chip Bounty," meaning players will earn $50 for each elimination.  The event also boasts a healthy $10,000 guaranteed prize pool, which may even attract some players that are new to the game.   The tournament is structured with 12,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (20) minutes.  Registration is open through Level 8 (and the break that follows), giving players until 8:50pm to join the fun.

 Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted that started back on November 1st, players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand!!!  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
