Sunday, July 1st: "The Champ Is Back," Colby Covington Ships Saturday Night's $10,000 GTD Event

ICYMI: Saturday's tournament schedule kicked off (at 11:00am) with a $175 No Limit Hold'em "Double Green Chip Bounty," which boasted the first of two $10,000 guaranteed prize pools for the day.  The field would eventually close with (64) entries at registration's close, with the players then competing to win their share of the $6,800 prize pool (bounties not included).  Eight players would be schedule to reach the money, with action playing through the money bubble, and down to the point when five players remained.  The final five agreed to a fairly even deal, where the difference between first and fifth place was less than $125.  Official results from the tournament are listed below:

Saturday's evening event was a $150 No Limit Hold'em "Deepstack," which also had a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool.  The field would grow to (118) entries, with the prize pool ballooning to $12,980, both of which were very impressive numbers.  Fifteen players were scheduled to reach the money, with action pausing when five player remained, just like the event that came before it.  The story of the night was the player to top the deal....none other than the Interim UFC Welterweight Champion, Colby Covington (Ft. Lauderdale, FL).  Covington is no stranger to the Isle Casino Poker Room, but had been away for a while, training for his June 9th title fight against Rafael Dos Anjos.  In his first tournament back, since winning the title, Covington earned $2,702 for first place in the deal.  Official results from the event are listed below:

Tournaments: It's a new month, but today's tournament schedule looks very similar to that of the Sundays past.  The action starts at 11:00am, with the $120 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack," which has a $2,500 guaranteed prize pool.  The tournament is structured with 25,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (20) minutes.  Registration is open through Level 8, allowing players that buy-in last minute, to still enter action with a manageable stack.

The evening tournament (6:00pm) is the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Turbo Bounty," which also carries a $2,500 guaranteed prize pool.  The tournament is structure with 15,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (15) minutes.  Registration is open through Level 10, with players earning a $25 green chip for each elimination throughout the night.

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted, players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand!!!  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

11:00am - $120 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($2,500 GTD)

- Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
- Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
- Level will last (20) minutes throughout the event

6:00pm - $130 No Limit Hold'em "Turbo Bounty" ($2,500 GTD)

- Players will begin with a 20,000 starting stack
- Late and re-entries for the first (10) levels
- Levels are (20) minutes in length
- Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
