Tuesday, July 17th: Recapping Event #4, As FSPC Schedule Returns With Something For Everyone

ICYMI: Day 2 of Event #4 ($360 No Limit Hold'em $200,000 GTD) began at 12:00pm yesterday afternoon, after five opening flights were held over the weekend.  The flights attracted a total of (864) entries, and an official prize pool of $259,200.  Even though the structure offered some incredibly deep play, it only took (5.5) hours to reach the final table, and another (2.5) hours for a five-way deal to be agreed to.  Francis Margaglione (Davie, FL) would emerge the "declared winner" in the deal, getting his hands on the first Isle Poker trophy of his illustrious career.

Prior to the result, Francis had over $173,709 in lifetime tournament earnings, including three titles during major series air Seminole Hard Rock.  Even though frequented all types of tournaments at the Isle Casino Pompano Park, a highlighting tournament win at this property was missing from his resume.  Margaglione has now eclipsed the $200,000 mark in earnings, which is a very special milestone for any tournament player.

"After so many wins elsewhere, it's nice to finally have one here," Francis said as he was waiting to be awarded the trophy.

Everyone who returned for Day 2 was in the money, and the immediate story of the day was that of Ray Millard, who steamrolled his opening table of the day.  After starting the day with 769,000, Millard was up to 2,000,000 before he'd be moved to a new table in order to balance the field.  We saw many notables players earn nice scores as the afternoon played out, including Bruce Snell, Jose Parra, Michael Marks, Erik Christensen, and Sara Chau.

After the elimination of Nagui Yassa and Michael Bonsignore, the Event #4 final table would be reached, with the chips flying right away.  The chip leader to start Day 2 was knocked out just a few hands in (Alex Gladunov), followed by Geraldo Gonzalez.  Final table short stacks Amy Wan and Eduardo Christ followed suit, with tournament veteran Ory Hen the final player to be eliminated, after losing two critical flips.  The remaining five players then ran the ICM numbers, with the official deal that was agreed to posted below (along with final table results):
  1. Francis Margaglione (Davie, FL) $32,505
  2. Ray Millard (Davie, FL) $27,457
  3. John Malczan (Boca Raton, FL) $22,682
  4. Stephen Ibrahim (Ft. Myers, FL) $19,470
  5. Juan Martinez (Miami, FL) $18,506
  6. Ory Hen (Cooper City. FL) $8,440
  7. Eduardo Christ (Brazil) $7,085
  8. Amy Wan (Parkland, FL) $5,790
  9. Jerry Gonzalez (Miami, FL) $4,520
  10. Alex Gladunov (Boca Raton, FL) $3,810
Tournaments: Today's FSPC schedule begins at 11:00am, with a $65 No Limit Hold'em Step Satellite Into $250 No Limit Hold'em Satellite (into Event #9).  There are three seats guaranteed (1 in 5 entries wins seat), with numerous $250 NLH Event #9 satellites to play in this weekend.  The satellite is structured with 8,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (15) minutes.  Registration is open through Level 8, and the break that follows.

The mixed-game players then get their chance, as Event #6 ($250 Limit Omaha Hi/Lo $10,000 GTD) gets underway at 2:00pm.  The tournament is structured with 14,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (25) minutes in length. Registration for the event is open through Level 8, allowing almost four hours for players to join the action.

The final tournament of the day is Event #7, a $130 No Limit Hold'em ($15,000 GTD) event which begins at 6:00pm.  The tournament is structured with 16,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (20) minutes in length.  Once again, registration is open through Level 8, and the break that follows.

Promotions: Tuesday's promotions start with the every-popular Full House Early Bird, with the first (25) full houses awarded up to $60.  The amount won depends on which game is being played, as 2/2 Limit Hold'em players earn $20 (for each full house while eligible), 2/4 Limit Hold'em players earning $40 (for each full house while eligible), and $60 for those playing: 1/2 No Limit Hold'em, 2/5 No Limit Hold'em, 5/10 No Limit Hold'em, 3/6 Limit Hold'em, and 8/16 O.E.

The standard high hands begin at 10:00am (because off the full house promotion), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes. During that period , the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked
 games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

At 6:00pm (every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday), the promotion transitions, and offers the opportunity for players to earn $1,500 every (30) minutes.  If a player (in no limit hold'em) flops the high hand (and it qualifies as the winning high hand for that period), they will be awarded $1,500.  If the player is at a limit hold'em table (or tournament), and flops the high hand, they will be awarded $750.

From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
