Saturday, December 22nd: Friday's Nights Tournament Crushes, $5,000 GTD Evening Event Headlines Saturday's Schedule

ICYMI: Friday's tournament schedule began with the second-ever running of the $75 No Limit Hold'em "Survivor" ($1,000 GTD).  While not as successful as last week's event (in terms of entries), the tournament still surpassed the guarantee, after registration closed with (23) entries.  The $1,150 prize pool meant that three spots were scheduled to be paid out, two of which were $500, and one that was $150.  Once the money bubble burst, those payouts were altered, with the official results listed below:
  1. Eugene Mirabello (Deerfield Beach, FL) $384
  2. Dan Killi (Parkland, FL) $383
  3. Bill Reich (Pompano Beach, FL) $383
The evening tournament was an $80 No Limit Hold'em event, which had a $3,000 posted guarantee.  After the field closed with (68) total entries, the prize pool closed at an impressive $4,996, absolutely crushing the guarantee.  Nine places were scheduled to reach the money, meaning one player that reached the final table would walk away empty handed. Once the money bubble burst, the action continued on, playing down to the point where five players remained.  Those left then agreed to an "even" chop, with every in the deal receiving $827 (except the fifth place spot, which got one dollar less).  Official results from the tournament are listed below:
  1. Danny Blackburn (Deerfield Beach, FL) $827
  2. Diane Linke (Boynton Beach, FL) $827
  3. Misty Abeln (Parkland, FL) $827
  4. Anthony Vulpis (Pompano Beach, FL) $827
  5. Anthony Casas (Miami, FL) $826
  6. Kenneth Arnaez (Boca Raton, FL) $262
  7. Wayne Luggery (Plantation, FL) $225
  8. Daniel Shortly (Lake Worth, FL) $200
  9. Joseph Ricco (Boynton Beach, FL) $175
Tournaments: Saturday's tournament schedule begins at 11:00am, with a $130 No Limit Hold'em event.  This tournament was labeled a "Seniors 50+" event last week, but is now open to any players that would like to join.  The event is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, (25) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.

Following the afternoon event (at 6:00pm), is a $150 No Limit Hold'em tournament, which boasts a $5,000 guaranteed prize pool.  The tournament is structured with 20,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  The $5,000 guarantee should attract a very nice field, and some healthy payouts.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

From 12:00am-9:00am (Friday into Saturday), the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
