Saturday, December 29th: Friday Evening Crushes, As Fredric Berkowitz Tops Five-Way Deal...Lots In Store For Saturday

ICYMI: Friday's tournament schedule began at 11:00am, with the very popular $75 No Limit Hold'em "Survivor" ($1,000 GTD).  The guarantee was surpassed early in the registration period, as the field closed with (38) entries (and an official prize pool of $1,900).   Three players were scheduled to walk away with a $500 prize, but a deal was agreed to on the money bubble, with four players earning $475.  Official results from the tournament are listed below:
  1. Salvatore Accardi (Pompano Beach, FL) $475
  2. Stanley Aufseeser (Deerfield Beach, FL) $475
  3. Mike Zelen (Commack, NY) $475
  4. Fransisco Kohly (Davie, FL) $475
Last night's tournament (6:00pm) was an $80 No Limit Hold'em event, which ended up crushing it's $3,000 guarantee.  By the time registration closed, the field would grow to (95) entries, which equated to a prize pool of $6,955 (after add-ons were included).  It would be the largest Friday night field in recent memory, with twelve spots scheduled to reach the money.  Action played through the money bubble, and eventually paused with five players remaining, at which point a chop was agreed to.  Fredric Berkowitz (Boston, MA) took home first place money in the deal ($1,465), with official results from the tournament listed below:
  1. Fredric Berkowitz (Boston, MA) $1,465
  2. Matthew Suffoletto (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,421
  3. Blaine McRae (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $833
  4. Kenneth Arnaez (Boca Raton, FL) $805
  5. Levi Pruss (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $795
  6. Celso Leroy (Delray Beach, FL) $330
  7. Sabas Ferrer (Coral Springs, FL) $278
  8. Scott Hecker (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $243
  9. Michael Boykin (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $221
  10. Andrew Kern (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $202
  11. Charles Zusage (Plantation, FL) $188
  12. Viola Pinney (Cape Canaveral. FL) $174
Tournaments: Saturday's tournament schedule begins at 11:00am, with a $130 No Limit Hold'em event.  The event is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, (25) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.

Following the afternoon event (at 6:00pm), is a $150 No Limit Hold'em tournament, which boasts a $2,500 guaranteed prize pool.  The tournament is structured with 20,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  The $5,000 guarantee should attract a very nice field, and some healthy payouts.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

From 12:00am-9:00am (Friday into Saturday), the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
