Monday, July 8th: A New Week Begins, With Omaha (Tournament) Players Getting Used To The Monday Start

ICYMI: Sunday's tournament schedule began with the $80 No Limit Hold'em ($2,000 GTD), which got underway at 11:00am.  After eight levels of open registration, the field would close with (27) entries, and an official prize pool of $2,025 (after optional add-ons were included).  Four players were scheduled to reach the money, and after one in-the-money elimination, a three-way chop was agreed to (with the official results listed below):
  1. Irwin Zamore (Boca Raton, FL) $706
  2. Morris Heider (Boca Raton, FL) $548
  3. Daniel Genachte (Deerfield Beach, FL) $548
  4. Matthew Axelrod (Boynton Beach, FL) $223
The evening tournament (6:00pm) was the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Turbo Bounty," which boasted a $2,000 guaranteed prize pool.  Because of the "turbo" levels, registration was open through Level 10, allowing the field to grow to (18) entries.  The $1,550 prize pool was to be paid out across three spots, and just like the afternoon event, players agreed to a chop after one elimination (in the money). Official results from the event are listed below:
  1. Joakim Dag (Pompano Beach, FL) $672
  2. Clifford Campbell (Coconut Creek, FL) $568
  3. Jason Hopkins (Delray Beach, FL) $310
Tournaments: Monday's tournament schedule starts with a little twist, as the $130 Omaha 8B Hi/Lo ($2,500 GTD) event finds itself in the afternoon time slot (after running Tuesday afternoon for more than a year).  The buy-in has decreased, while the guarantee increases, making it a great little formula for the players.  The structure sees a small change as well, as the starting stacks shift to 12,000 units, with levels that last (20) minutes in length.

At 3:00pm (and at that time all week), there will be an $80 No Limit Hold'em Satellite, which will awarded (3) guaranteed seats into a $340 NLH Florida State Poker Championship Main Event Mega-Satellite.

The evening time slot (6:00pm) hosts an $80 No Limit Hold'em tournament, which has a $1,500 guarantee.  The event is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  Prior to the player's first hand, they have the option to get an add-on for $10.

Promotions: Outside of the "standard" high hands, the poker opens with the Early Bird Full House Promotion.  The proceedings begin once the doors of the poker room open, with the first (25) full houses made, earning a $50 prize.  Each jackpot eligible cash game is included in the promotion, with two rules to keep in mind, when thinking about winning the $50.  In order to be eligible, the full house must be made using two cards, and must be the winning hand.

The "standard" high hands will be awarding up to $300 every (20) minutes (from 9:00am-12:00am).  Every jackpot game is eligible for the same amount, with the full $300 being awarded to high hands that are made using two cards.  Those made using one card, will be awarded $150.  For those players in tournaments, two-card high hands are worth $100, with one-card high hands walking away with $50.

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
