After a quick start to the day, the pace of entry slowed down just a little, as Flight 1A saw it's registration period close with (62) entries.  The tournament needs a total of (701) entries to reach the guaranteed number ($75,000), meaning the remaining seven flights need to average (92) entries per.  The $6,634 from this flight will go towards the overall number, with Flight 1A getting things off to strong start.  There are (39) players still remaining, all hoping to reach Level 18 (or the 10% mark, which is seven players), and bag chips for Monday's Day 2.  When we reach Level 12, a full list of players remaining in Flight 1A will be posted.

Stanton Drazen (Delray Beach, FL) is one of the more recognizable faces in the Isle Poker tournament scene, in attendance for almost every afternoon event on the schedule.

There are "tournament regulars" at the Isle Poker Room, and then there is "Dr. Stan." Stanton Drazen (Delray Beach, FL) is seemingly in every afternoon tournament field, whether it's a recurring event, or during one of the major series over the course of the year.  When one looks at his Hendon Mob resume, they would see a total of (33) lifetime results (recorded), with all but two of those occurring at this property.  Drazen has over $35,000 in lifetime earnings, with countless more cashes amassed, prior to the every day submission of recurring results (back in 2016).  Stanton's last multi-flight tournament score came last June, when he was part of an eight-way chop, that ended a stand-alone $200 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD) event.  Dr. Stan earned eighth place money in the deal, which was worth $5,176.

Stanton headlines the first look at notables in today's Flight 1A field, joining names like:

Brian Appell
Garrick Young
Luiz Stadler
Alan Dobrow
Alex White
Zaki Lichaa
Marcel Dechamps
Demoy Thomas
Terry Siele
Karin Powsner
Alberto Niebla

Total Flight 1A Entries: N/A

It's been just under two weeks since the "Isle New Year Kickstart" wrapped up, with the month's second multi about to get underway.  If the year's opening multi-flight event was any signs of things to come, this week's "Bankroll Builder" will surely live up to its name.  The $140 No Limit Hold'em tournament carries a very healthy $75,000 guaranteed prize pool, with eight flights over the next four days (and Day 2 on Monday).

The tournament is structured with 20,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  Each of the opening flights is scheduled to conclude after Level 18, but will stop short of that point, if the 10% mark is reached beforehand.  After 1,126 entries in the "Isle New Year Kickstart," this opening flight will set the tone for the "Bankroll Builder," with sporadic updates from the field through Flight 1A over the course of the day.

It's now time to "shuffle up and deal!!"

Thursday, January 17th: January's Second Multi-Flight Event Upon Us, As $140 No Limit Hold'em Bankroll Builder ($75,000 GTD) Starts At 11:00AM

ICYMI: Wednesday's tournament schedule started with the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Survivor," which boasted a $3,000 guarantee.  Once the registration period ended, the tournament clock showed (27) entries, and a prize pool that landed on the posted number ($3,000).  That meant that three $1,000 pay spots were up for grabs, but those numbers ended up getting altered short of the "official" money.  Players agreed to a five-way chop, with the official results posted below:
  1. Francois Gagne (Hillsboro Beach, FL) $812
  2. Paul Proffer (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $770
  3. Raymond George (Hamden, CT) $678
  4. Leo Birov (Sunny Isles, FL) $404
  5. Sal Accardi (Pompano Beach, FL) $336
At 6:00pm, cards got in the air for the $80 No Limit Hold'em event, which had a $1,500 guarantee.  The field officially closed with (44) entries, and after the optional add-ons were collected, the prize pool ended up more than doubling the guarantee ($3,100).  Six spots were scheduled to get paid, and after four in-the-money eliminations, the final two players agreed to a heads-up deal.  Official results from the tournament are listed below:
  1. Matthew Halperin (Delray Beach, FL) $1,006
  2. Marianne Dewitt (Lauderdale Lakes, FL) $916
  3. Lawrence Smith (Jacksonville, FL) $434
  4. Gayle Lutin (Boca Raton, FL) $310
  5. Celso Leroy (Delray Beach, FL) $248
  6. Edward Rappa (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $186
Tournaments: After close to two weeks since the Isle New Year Kickstart, the month's second multi begins this afternoon ($140 No Limit Hold'em Bankroll Builder $75,000 GTD).  At 11:00am, the first of eight starting flights for the tournament will get underway, with a pair of flights each of the next four days (and Day 2 on Monday).  Each of the flights have the same structure: with 20,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  Play is scheduled to conclude after Level 18, or once the field reaches the 10% mark, whichever happens first.  Once either of those moments are reached, players will bag up chips for Monday's Day 2 (which begins at 12:00pm).  Just as Flight 1A is entering it's "homestretch," Flight 1B will begin (at 6:00pm), carrying the same structure as the afternoon installment.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
