Thursday, February 21st: Two Tournament "Classic" Headline Schedule, As Weekend Approaches

ICYMI: Wednesday's tournament schedule began at 11:00am, with the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Survivor."  The event did not originally have a guarantee, but it's normal $3,000 number was honored by Poker Room Director Kenneth Lambert.  Registration for the event would close with (21) entries, and an official prize pool of $3,000, meaning three spots were scheduled to be awarded $1,000.  Those numbers ended up being altered, as six players agreed to a deal, with Zaki Lichaa (Pompano Beach, FL) awarded first place money:
  1. Zaki Lichaa (Pompano Beach, FL) $635
  2. Alan Dobrow (Melville, NY) $599
  3. Bruce Naylor (Fort Wayne, IN) $515
  4. Daniel Genachte (Deerfield Beach, FL) $495
  5. Frank Selega (Traverse City, MI) $422
  6. Jeffrey Oldakowski (Pompano Beach, FL) $334
The 6:00pm time slot hosted an $80 No Limit Hold'em event, which boasted a guarantee of $1,500.  That posted number was crushed, as the field closed with (49) total entries, and an official prize pool of $3,375 (after optional add-ins were included into the number).  Seven spots were scheduled to make the money, an in a rare recurring event occurrence, action played down to an outright winner.  Listed below, are the official results from the tournament:
  1. Norman Boothe (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,247
  2. Danny Blackburn (Deerfield Beach, FL) $743
  3. Timothy Pfeiffer (Castle Pines, CO) $456
  4. Jeffrey Oldakowski (Pompano Beach, FL) $321
  5. Andrew Daire (Boca Raton, FL) $253
  6. Jeffrey Davis (Oakland, CA) $203
  7. Roberto Desogos (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $152
Tournaments: Two "staple" tournaments of the recurring schedule highlight Thursday's schedule, beginning at 11:00am, with the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack." The player-friendly event is structured with 25,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  This tournament has a history of attracted nice sized fields, with today's installment expected nothing less.

The "Monster Stack" is followed at 6:00pm, by a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Bounty" event.  It should be noted, that this tournament is not the "turbo bounty" that runs on Sunday's, as players get extended levels of (20) minutes (along with the 20,000 unit starting stacks).  Registration is also open through Level 8, not the ten levels that the turbo allows.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
