Thursday, March 28th: Eveslage Enjoys Event #6 Win, As Players Focus On Day 1B Of Event #7 ($1,100 No Limit Hold'em $100,000 GTD)

ICYMI: Yesterday's tournament schedule was headlined by the opening flight of Event #6 ($1,100 No Limit Hold'em $100,000 GTD), which got underway at 1:00pm.  After the full twelve scheduled levels were completed, the tournament clock showed (28) total entires in the field, of which (6) players would bag chips.  Athanasios Polychronopoulos finished the day with an overwhelming chip lead, as his 346,500 stack was more than double that is his nearest competitor.  Official chip counts from Day 1A are listed below:

Athanasios Polychronopoulos - 346,500
Kevin Larkin - 161,500
Ian O'Hara - 100,000
Staffan Lind - 81,400
James Petzing - 58,700
John Dillinger - 50,000

After the first of two starting day's Event #6 has a prize pool of $27,440, which is just over s third of the way, to the posted $100,000 guarantee.  This will make for an interesting Thursday, as all eyes will be on the Day 1B pace of entry, wondering if we will see an overlay (and adding value to the tournament itself).
Event #5 Winner Chad Eveslage

Wednesday had an addition to the lineup, as three players returned to wrap up Event #5 of the Battles At The Beach ($2,500 No Limit Hold'em 8-Max).  Chad Eveslage (Ramsey, IN) came into the day as the chip leader, and would finish what he started, taking home the trophy and $27,945.  Official results from the tournament are listed below:
  1. Chad Eveslage (Ramsey, IN) $27,945
  2. Jose Reyes (Coral Springs, FL) $16,767
  3. Dmitri Perfilev (Aventura, FL) $10,557
  4. Ian O'Hara (Coconut Creek, FL) $6,831
Tournaments: It's another busy day in the poker room, as players have their final opportunity to enter Event #6 of the Battles At The Beach ($1,100 No Limit Hold'em $100,000 GTD).  The day begins (at 10:00am) with a $130 No Limit Hold'em Satellite into Event #6, which is structured with 12,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and has registration that is open through Level 8.

The second (and final) opening flight for Event #6 then follows (at 1:00pm), with the $1,100 No Limit Hold'em event short of the pace needed to reach the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool.  Event #6 is structured with starting stacks of 30,000 units, levels that last (40) minutes each, and registration that is open through Level 12.  It should be noted, that once the final table of this tournament is reached, the levels will transition to (60) minutes in length.

To end the day, we see the first satellite into Event #7 of the Battles At The Beach, which is the main event of the series ($1,500 No Limit Hold'em $300,000 GTD).  The $175 No Limit Hold'em Satellite is structured with 12,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and has registration that is open through Level 8.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

There is an addition to the day's promotions, with the "Twilight Full House" promo beginning at 6:00pm.  The first (25) full houses made (after 6:00pm), that are tens full or better, will be awarded up to $100 (dependent on which game is being played).  A full list of payouts for each game are posted in the poker room (with the promo's official flyer to be posted here on the blog shortly).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
