ICYMI: With the holidays now in the rear view mirror, players took aim at last night's $100 No Limit Hold'em ($3,000 GTD).  We have preached "value" in this tournament, considering the more than reasonable buy-in, and impressive (potential) return on that hundred-dollar bill.  Last night's event began at 5:00pm, and ended up attracting an official total of (104) entries (which equated to a $7,800) prize pool.    Of those entries, (13) players were scheduled to earn money, with all eyes on the top three prizes.  With such big numbers up top, the tournament ended in a three-way deal, with the official results listed below:

  2. Chawla Singh (Tampa, FL) $1,542

Promotions: Saturday's high hand promotion stays the same from open to close...awarded $100 every (30) minutes, to the qualifying high hand (must be aces-full or better).  In order to make a qualifying high hand, players must use both hole cards, as one-card high hands are no longer eligible.

  • Players start with 12,000 in tournament chips

Thursday, December 3rd: Thursday's Calming Sense...Before The Action Really Picks Up For The Weekend!!!

ICYMI: If there was a day of the week that would be the "calmest" at the Isle Casino Pompano Park Poker Room, it would for sure be Thursday.  It's the only 24-hour period that runs without a "bonus promotion," or a guaranteed daily tournament.  That being said, the cash game action runs still runs strong, with 1/2 No Limit Hold'em mainly hosted across the room.

Tournaments: We are less than a day away from the beginning off the "Weekend Trifecta," a trio of tournaments that each carry a solid guarantee...and repeatedly crush the numbers!!!  Tomorrow's tournament is a $150 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD), offering a great structure...and even better value!!

Friday, November 20th: Expectation Are High, As The $150 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) Tournament Headlines Friday's Action!

Tournaments: When deciding where and when to play poker tournaments, one of the main things that players take into consideration, is the event's value.  What will the potential return look like, if one was to cash in the tournament...or potentially win?  If value is what you're looking for, then tonight's 6:00pm tournament is unmatched.  The $150 No Limit Hold'em event carries a $5,000 guaranteed prize pool, which has been easily surpassed the past three weeks.  Last Friday we saw the field grow to over (100) entries, which equated to a prize pool over $12,000!!!  The tournament is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and has open registration through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  Official results from the tournament will be posted on the blog tomorrow morning, and will be submitted to Hendon Mob for recording.

Promotions: Friday's high hand promotion stays the same from open to close...awarded $100 every (30) minutes, to the qualifying high hand (must be aces-full or better).  In order to make a qualifying high hand, players must use both hole cards, as one-card high hands are no longer eligible.

6:00pm: $150 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD)
  • Players start with 15,000 in tournament chips
  • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
  • Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
  • Levels will last (20) minutes

Wednesday, November 18th: $300 High Hands Take Center Stage (2:00PM-10:00PM), With the "Weekend Swing" Approaching Quickly

Tournaments: The next tournament to look forward to is on Friday, as players have the $150 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) circled on their calendars.  The tournament is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and has registration open through Level 8 (and the break that follows).

Promotions: Wednesday afternoon's got a little shake up (as did Monday and Tuesday), as a special promotion has made it's way to the schedule.  The doors open at 11:00am, with the standard high hand of $100 awarded every (30) minutes.  At 2:00pm, things then shift, as we see $300 awarded every (30) minutes, all the way until 10:00pm.  All of the standard rules apply, meaning that the qualifying high hand has to be aces-full or better, using both hole cards (one-card high hands do not qualify).
