Saturday, April 8th: "Special" $15,000 GTD Tournament Headlines Saturday's Schedule

ICYMI: There was one tournament on yesterday's (Friday) schedule, a $150 No Limit Hold'em event with a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool.  A total of (91) entries made up the field, eclipsing the tournament's posted guarantee, and finishing with a prize pool of $10,465.  Ten spots were being paid in the event, with a $241 min-cash, and a posted first place prize of $3,553.  Just after a handful of eliminations at the final table, the remaining four players agreed to a deal, with Ramon Navarro (Hollywood, FL) earning the "winner's share" ($2,313):

  1. Ramon Navarro (Hollywood, FL) $2,313
  2. Michael Sugg (Boca Raton, FL) $2,135
  3. Robert Transue (N. Lauderdale Beach, FL) $1,837
  4. Jay Stafford (Deerfield Beach, FL) $1,548
The full results from last night's tournament, along with the rest of the "daily" events from the week, will be posted on Monday (in the "Week In Review" feature).

Tournaments: Two tournaments make up today's schedule, the first of which gets underway at 11:00am ($100 No Limit Hold'em w/ $25 Bounties $3,000 GTD).  The event would be considered a "Big Stack Turbo," as players sit down to starting stacks of 18,000, and play levels of (15) minutes throughout.  The real headliner comes later in the day (6:00pm), as the $120 No Limit Hold'em $15,000 GTD begins.  This is another bigger guaranteed event on the month's schedule, and offers up a solid structure.  Entrants sit down to starting stacks of 25,000 units, and play (20) minute levels for the event's entirety.  If the showing from Thursday's evening tournament is a sign of things to come, then players can look forward to a great event.

Promotions: The high hand promotions take another "breather" today, between yesterday's (11) hours worth of "turbo" high hands, tomorrow's (7) hours of $300 high hands (awarded every 15 minutes).  The "standard high hand" procedure is in place, awarded prizes to qualifying high hands every (30) minutes (with rollovers).
