Tuesday, June 28th: Manuel Alvarez Takes Home First Place Money In "Final Table Finish" Heads-Up Deal

Tournament Winner Manuel Alvarez
ICYMI:
Even though Monday's $250 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) was not part of this month's leaderboard race, it did not stop the players from showing up in strong fashion.  Registration for the event closed with a total of (103) entries, which helped the official prize pool surpass the posted guarantee ($21,424).  With the tournament format, the top nine places were scheduled to earn a piece of the prize pool, with action playing down to a heads-up final table.  The final two players agreed to a deal, which saw Manuel Alvarez take home first place prize money ($7,335).  Official results from the tournament are listed below:
  1. Manuel Alvarez (Lake Worth, FL) $7,335
  2. Did Not Report (Parts Unknown, USA) $5,091
  3. Robert Souaid (Gulfstream, FL) $2,142
  4. Sara Azmi (Aventura, FL) $1,500
  5. Myung Choi (Wilton Manors, FL) $1,500
  6. Michael Weinberg (Darling, FL) $1,071
  7. Michael Johnson (Miami, FL) $1,071
  8. Adam Mammon (Lauderhill, FL) $857
  9. Luke Rosenberg (Parkland, FL) $857

Tournaments: The $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) tournament had a very successful first run, and is now a member of the "recurring" tournament family.  The tournament is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, and has (20) minute levels throughout.  Registration is open through Level 8, and closes once the first hand of Level 9 is dealt (there is a short break between the two).

Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 12:00pm, there is a new promotion in June, offering boosted Early Bird High Hands.  The high hand at the top of the hour (:00) will be awarded $599, while the high hands at the bottom of the hour (:30) will be awarded $300.  From 12:00pm until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

6:00pm: $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD)
  • Players start with 15,000 in tournament chips
  • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
