Thursday, April 11th: Recapping Wednesday's Action, As We Get Closer To A Big Weekend Of Poker

ICYMI: Wednesday's recurring tournament schedule began at 11:00am, with the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Survivor" ($3,000 GTD).  The event would fall a few entries short of the number needed, as registration closed with a total of (23) entries.  That meant that the $3,000 prize pool, would be spread across three $1,000 pay spots.  Action played down to the money bubble, with the four remaining players agreeing to a deal.  The breakdown of the numbers are listed below:
  1. Yesniel Pulido (Davie, FL) $850
  2. Lawrence Bonetti (Margate, FL) $850
  3. Robert Gelin (Boynton Beach, FL) $700
  4. Zaki Lichaa (Pompano Beach, FL) $600
The "Survivor" was followed by an $80 No Limit Hold'em event, which boasted a $1,500 guaranteed prize pool. The event's registration closed with (21) entries, and an official prize pool of $1,500, which was scheduled to be paid across three spots.  Just like the afternoon tournament before it, the action ended in a chop, but six players were involved last night.  Details of the deal are listed below:
  1. Luis Pena-Rivera (Homestead, FL) $435
  2. Diane Linke (Boynton Beach, FL) $320
  3. Ralph Spadafore (Boynton Beach, FL) $260
  4. David Coughlin (Lighthouse Point, FL) $250
  5. Robert Kuznietz (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $235
Tournaments: Thursday's tournament schedule sees the return of a "staple," along with the introduction of a new event.  The day's action begins at 11:00an, with the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($1,500 GTD).  The player-friendly event is structured with 25,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  This tournament has a history of attracted nice sized fields, with today's installment expected nothing less.

The "Monster Stack" is followed at 6:00pm, by a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Progressive Bounty" ($2,000 GTD) event.  It should be noted, that this tournament is not the "turbo bounty" that runs on Sunday's, as players get extended levels of (20) minutes (along with the 15,000 unit starting stacks).  Registration is also open through Level 8, not the ten levels that the turbo allows.  The "progressive bounty" aspect of the tournament, will see all bounties earned over the course of the evening, awarded to the player that scores an elimination.  For example, if Player A has collected four bounties, and is eliminated by Player B in Level 13, Player B will be awarded Player A's four bounties.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

There is an addition to the day's promotions, with the "Twilight Full House" promo beginning at 6:00pm.  The promotion sees (30) total prize awarded, with the breakdown as such: the first (15) full houses (that are tens full or better) will be awarded $50, while the first (15) quads or better will be awarded $150.  In order for hands to qualify for the promotional prize, they must be made using both hole cards (in Omaha, players must flop the qualifying high hand to be eligible).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
