Saturday, May 1st: As A New Month Begins, We Congratulate Pedro Palacio, April's Tournament Player Of The Month!!!

ICYMI: Friday's $150 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) was the final tournament of April, making it even more important, for those looking to make a final move up the tournament leaderboard.  The event attracted a total of (120) entries, and an official prize pool of $13,800.  A total of (15) players would reach the money in the event, with only a small number actually in striking distance of the top spot on the leaderboard.  Everyone was chasing Pedro Palacio, who ended up cashing in the event (11th Place), securing his $2,000 win for first place on the monthly leaderboard.  The tournament played down to heads-up, at which point a deal was struck, with Brian Dunn receiving first place money.  Official results from the tournament are listed below, with the the Player Of The Month leaderboard for April (final standings) to follow this afternoon:

Tournaments: The train to "value town" departs the station at 6:00pm, when the cards get in the air for the $100 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD).  Last week's Saturday evening tournament attracted (155) entries, and had a prize pool of $11,625...for a $100 buy-in.  The payouts offered solid returns on investment, with first place taking home $2,116 (as part of a three-way chop).

The tournament is structured with 12,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and has registration open through Level 8 (as well as the short break that follows). 

Promotions: From 10:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

There is a new promotion to announce, and it will surely make those that prefer four-card action happy!  On Friday and Saturday in the month of May, players will receive $50 for the first (5) hours of PLO played.  It's that easy...sit down to a 2/2 PLO game, and after you've been actively playing for five hours, you will receive a cash payout.
