Thursday, December 27th: Recapping Wednesday's Action, A We Close Out The Year In Strong Fashion

ICYMI: Wednesday's tournament schedule kicked off at 11:00am, with a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Survivor," that boasted a $3,000 guaranteed prize pool.  Registration for the event would close with (32) entries, meaning three players were scheduled to walk away with $1,000 prizes, and a fourth to earn $200.  Those scheduled prizes were altered long before the money was reached, as players agreed to an eight-way chop, in which everyone earned $400.  Official results from the tournament are listed below:
  1. Roger Ramos (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $400
  2. Arlene Vazquez (Parkland, FL) $400
  3. Evan Mocyunas (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $400
  4. Daniel Genachte (Deerfield Beach, FL) $400
  5. Zaki Lichaa (Pompano Beach, FL) $400
  6. Susan Krowitz (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $400
  7. Salvatore Accardi (Pompano Beach, FL) $400
  8. Ricardo Martinez (Boca Raton, fL) $400
The "Survivor" was followed by an $80 No Limit Hold'em event, which got underway at 6:00pm.  The tournament's field grew to (30) entries, and ended up with an official prize pool of $2,210.  Unlike the event prior, the evening tournament did not end in a deal, as action played down to an outright winner.  Jeffrey Oldakowski (Pompano Beach, FL) bested Brian McVan during heads-up play, earning $994 for the win.  Results from the tournament are listed below:
  1. Jeffrey Oldakowski (Pompano Beach, FL) 4994
  2. Brian McVan (West Palm Beach, FL) $597
  3. Marc Romani (Pembroke Pines, FL) $376
  4. Jonathan Marcu (Boca Raton, FL) $243
Tournaments: Two "staple" tournaments of the recurring schedule highlight Thursday's schedule, beginning at 11:00am, with the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD). The player-friendly event is structured with 25,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  This tournament has a history of attracted nice sized fields, with today's installment expected nothing less.

The "Monster Stack" is followed at 6:00pm, by a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Bounty" event.  It should be noted, that this tournament is not the "turbo bounty" that runs on Sunday's, as players get extended levels of (20) minutes (along with the 20,000 unit starting stacks).  Registration is also open through Level 8, not the ten levels that the turbo allows.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
