Friday, August 26th: David Barbieri Tops Thursday's Three-Way Chop, Brian Vazquez Is Leaderboard Frontrunner Heading Into The Weekend!!!

ICYMI:
While every tournament is important in it's own right, the final events of August are going to go help decide the Player of the Month winner (there are no runaways in August).  Thursday's $200 No Limit Hold'em ($15,000 GTD) got underway at 6:00pm, and saw registration close with a total of (66) entries.  After the optional add-ons were included in the prize pool, there was still a small overlay...but those in the tournament were still competing for the $15,000 prize pool.  Nine players were scheduled to reach the money, with action playing down to a three-handed final table (at which point a deal was agreed upon).  Official results from the event are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:
  1. David Barbieri (Coconut Creek, FL) $3,988
  2. Scott Livingston (Stuart, FL) $3,080
  3. Jean Fabien (Lake Worth, FL) $3,018
  4. Didier Bramy (Parkland, FL) $1,313
  5. Robert Transue (North Lauderdale, FL) $1,013
  6. Lashone Dobard (Hollywood, FL) $788
  7. Nicholas Bennett (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $675
  8. Michael Newman (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $600
  9. James Tomblin (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $525

Tournaments: With the arrival of the weekend, comes the $80 No Limit Hold'em ($4,000 GTD)...a new event that replaces the $160 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD).  The cards get in the air at 6:00pm, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 12,000.  Levels will last (20) minutes throughout the evening, with registration open through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  At the end of registration, players will have the opportunity to add-on for $40 (receiving an additional 15,000 chips).

Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

In addition to the high hands, there is a "bonus" promotion in place, which offers $1,000 to the highest hand from the 9:00am-12:00pm time period.  If a player makes a straight flush in the 9:00am-9:30am qualifying period, and that is the best qualifying high hand from 9:00am-12:00pm, they will earn an extra $1,000 (in addition to the $300 they were awarded for the half-hour time period).

6:00pm - $80 No Limit Hold'em ($4,000 GTD)
  • Players start with 12,000 in tournament chips
  • Levels will last (20) minutes
  • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
  • Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
  • Optional $40 add-on at the end of registration (15,000 chips)
