ICYMI: Thursday's $180 No Limit Hold'em "Double Green Chip Bounty" ($5,000 GTD) cruised past the posted guarantee, as registration for the tournament closed with a total of (73) entries. The $6,643 prize pool was scheduled to be spread across nine pay-spots, in addition to the $3,650 bounty pool, that was to be awarded for each elimination (players earned $50 per knockout). While the common trend sees these recurring tournaments end in a chop (more often than not), last night's installment played down to an outright winner. Jill Herron (Lindenhurst, NY) ended up besting Joseph Kearns during heads-up play, to take home $2,260, along with 24.84 leaderboard points. Official results from the tournament are listed below:
- Jill Herron (Lindenhurst, NY) $2,260
- Joseph Kearns (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,295
- Eric Lerner (Hallandale, FL) 4810
- Robert Kessler (Parkland, FL) $548
- Bruce Mair (Coral Springs, FL) $415
- Ira Horowitz (Miami, FL) $332
- James Majuste (Lauderdale Lakes, FL) $292
- Kevin McGillicuddy (Coral Springs, FL) $266
- James Tomblin (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $226
Tournaments: With the arrival of the weekend, comes the $160 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD)...the tournament that started this incredible tournament resurgence at the Isle Casino Pompano Park poker room. The cards get in the air at 6:00pm, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 15,000. Levels will last (20) minutes throughout the evening, with registration open through Level 8 (and the break that follows).
Promotions: From 10:00am (the minute the doors open) to 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10). The 11:00pm-Close period will then see $100 high hands awarded every (30) minutes.
In addition to the high hands, there is a "bonus" promotion in place, which offers $1,000 to the highest hand from the 9:00am-12:00pm time period.
