Tuesday, March 5th: Recapping The $140 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD), As The Full House Promo And Recurring Schedule Return

ICYMI: There were three events on yesterday's schedule, but one stood out amongst the group, as players returned for Day 2 of the $140 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD).  A total of (55) players took their seats at 12:00pm, all focused on reaching the money, with eight Day 2 players walking away empty handed (47 players made the money).  Every tournament has a storyline, with yesterday's being the "rise from the bottom."  As the field dwindled down, we began to see the top stacks coming into the day depart, as the shorter stacks saw success.  The event eventually concluded in a seven-way deal, with Paul Angelo taking home first place money ($6,940).  Chrystian Santos, who came into the day as the chip leader, was able to buck the trend big stacks leaving early (as he took second place in the chop).  Final table results from the $140 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD) are posted below, with full results to follow (later this afternoon):
  1. Paul Angelo (Pompano Beach, FL) $6,940
  2. Chrystian Santos (Boca Raton, FL) $5,138
  3. Blaine McRae (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $4,736
  4. Stephen Kowlessar (Miramar, FL) $4,736
  5. Michael Weinberg (Delray Beach, FL) $4,512
  6. Michael Corbett (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $3,981
  7. Juan Reyes (Margate, FL) $3,593
  8. Owayne Clarke (Sunrise, FL) $1,435
  9. John Germano (Providence, RI) $1,115
  10. Michael Bonsignore (Hollywood, FL) $930
Before Day 2 got underway, action started for the 11:00am event, which was a $150 No Limit Hold'em tournament.  Registration closed with (13) entries in the field, and an official prize pool of $1,495.  Two spots were scheduled to reach the money, but players ended up agreed to a deal prior to the bubble, with the details of the chop listed below:
  1. John Parrone Jr. (Rochester, NY) $566
  2. Avril Mizerovsky (Greensville, SC) $376
  3. Alan Levin (Rochester, NY) $342
  4. Herald Hertz (Pompano Beach, FL) $211
The evening time slot hosted it's staple $90 No Limit Hold'em event, which had a $1,500 guaranteed prize pool.  As has been the trend, the posted guarantee was eclipsed prior to the add-on period, officially closing at $2,015.  Four spots were scheduled to reach the money, with players agreeing to a chop on the money bubble.  Official results from the tournament are listed below:
  1. Brandt Wilkerson (Buford, GA) $474
  2. Jeffrey Oldakowski (Pompano Beach, FL) $425
  3. Lawrence Israel (Delray Beach, FL) $392
  4. Frank Giordano (Pompano Beach, FL) $367
  5. Edgard Mendes (Deerfield Beach, FL) $357
Tournaments: Tuesday's schedule begins at 11:00am, with a little mixed-game action, and the $150 Limit Omaha 8B Hi/Lo ($3,000 GTD) event.  For those that know the recurring schedule well, an increase in the size of guarantee will be noticed.  The tournament is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.

The evening time slot sees the return of the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Chip Buster," which boasts a $2,500 guaranteed prize pool.  The "chip buster" name refers to the tournament's starting stacks, which are 50,000 units.  The event has (20) minute levels, and a registration period that is open through Level 8.

Promotions: Outside of the "standard" high hands, the poker opens with the "new" Full House Promotion.  The proceedings begin once the doors of the poker room open, with the first (25) full houses made, earning a $40 prize.  Each jackpot eligible cash game is included in the promotion, with two rules to keep in mind, when thinking about winning the $40.  In order to be eligible, the full  house must be made using two cards, and must be the winning hand.

The day's "standard" high hand period will last from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
