Friday, December 22nd: Holiday Weekend Kicks Off With Some Big Tournament Action

ICYMI: One of the things that became evident during the 2017 Isle Classic (although it was really not much of a surprise), is that players really enjoy the mixed event tournaments.  There were two non-no limit hold'em events during the series, both of which did very well in terms of attendance.  As the tournament schedule transitioned from the Isle Classic to the recurring (yesterday), the first event back was a mixed tournament ($130 Omaha 8B/Stud 8B Hi/Lo $2,000 GTD).  The tournament soared past the guarantee, as (33) entries made up the field.  The official prize pool closed at $3,300, and would see five spots getting paid out.  The scheduled payouts would eventually be altered, as a three-way deal was agreed to, headed by Isle Poker notables Avi Levy (Coral Springs, FL).
  1. Avi Levy (Coral Springs, FL) $1,153
  2. Sean Lyew-Daniels (Coral Springs, FL) $760
  3. Marc Wolfe (Miami, FL) $760
  4. Sandy Sanchez (North Lauderhill, FL) $363
  5. Peter Nathan (Pompano Beach, FL) $264
Things returned back to "normal" for the evening time slot, as the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo Bounty" ($3,000) got underway at 6:00pm.  The $3,615 prize pool was comprised of (45) total entries (including bounties), and boasted a scheduled first place prize of $971.  Once again, we would see the payouts altered, as players agreed to another three-way chop.  The time is was Brunel Sicar (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) atop the list of payouts, take home $893 for his first place money.
  1. Brunel Sicar (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $893
  2. Don Gordon (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $500
  3. Mark Chichelli (Boynton Beach, FL) $500
  4. Adam Lorraine (Pompano Beach, FL) $249
  5. Tony Zambrowski (Chandler, AZ) $199
  6. Marc Wolfe (Miami, FL) $149
Tournaments: Friday's tournament action begins with the $120 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD), one of the more popular recurring events with the players.  Reason begin...the beyond generous structure, which sees players sitting down to starting stacks of 25,000 units, and playing levels that last (25) minutes.

The "Monster Stack" is followed at 6:00pm by a "monster" guarantee, with the $75 No Limit Hold'em event boasting a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool.  It's a number we haven't seen for a while, when talking about that price point, but should surely bring out a sizable field.  Players in the tournament will be sitting down to starting stacks of 15,000 units, and playing levels of (25) minutes over the course of the night.  There is also an optional add-on at the registration, offering 10,000 units for a cost of $20 (100% of add-on money goes towards the prize pool).

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted that started back on November 1st, players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand!!!  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
