Friday, April 19th: $175 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD) Continues After Strong Start, Along With $500 High Hands!!!

ICYMI: Thursday marked the beginning of the $175 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD), with the tournament getting off to a very strong start.  Flight 1A play started at 11:00am, and after eight levels of open registration, the field would close with (97) entries.  At the end of Level 14 (which is the point that the bagging process begins), a total of (14) players remained, led by Ty Akbalsi (who bagged 306,000).  Official counts from the opening flight of the event are listed below:

Tournaments: Today's tournament schedule mirrors that of yesterday, with two flights for the $175 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD), and a satellite for the event.  The tournament's flights are structured with 18,000 unit starting stacks, (25) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  Players that successfully bag chips for Day 2, will return on Monday (April 22nd) at 12:00pm.

The $50 No Limit Hold'em satellite (which carries at 5 seat guarantee), is structured with 10,000 unit starting stacks, (15) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.    

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

There is a "special" promotion that starts this evening, that will also run every Friday and Saturday in April (from 6:00pm-10:00pm).  During the listed four-hour time period, high hands will be worth $500, and will be awarded every (20) minutes.  In order for the qualifying high hand to be awarded the $500 prize, the hand must be made using both hole cards.  Qualifying high hands that are made with one-card, will be awarded a $250 prize.

From 12:00am-9:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.

- Levels will last (15) minutes
