Tuesday, December 4th: Willie Wiggins Tops Final Table Chop Of Event #1, As The Isle Poker Classic Rolls On

ICYMI: At 12:00pm yesterday afternoon, (129) players returned for Day 2 of Event #1 ($200 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" $100,000 GTD).  From that number, (94) would reach the money, with all eyes on the healthy final table payouts.  The day's action started slowly, with the stack depth playing a large part in that, as it took two hours to reach the money bubble.  There would be no hand-for-hand play, as Michael Garcell eliminated Marcin Plewinski on the bubble.  From there, the pace picked up, with the field going from (94) to (10) in six hours.  Willie Wiggins (Pembroke Pines, FL) scored a double-knockout to send the tournament to it's final table, which ended up being the final hand of the tournament.  Once players took their seats at the final table, discussions of an ICM chop were brought up, and eventually agreed to.  The official numbers from the deal are listed below, with full results from the tournament to be posted shortly:
  1. Willie Wiggins (Pembroke Pines, FL) $14,847
  2. Diane Linke (Boynton Beach, FL) $12,538
  3. Allan Bieler (Sunrise, FL) $11,280
  4. Mohan Navani (India) $10,475
  5. Pasquale Caiazza (Davie, FL) $10,325
  6. Richard Saunders (Weston, FL) $10,225
  7. Steven Moreno (Miami, FL) $8,608
  8. Kerry Keena (North Palm Beach, FL) $7,565
  9. Andrew Jones (Venice, FL) $7,128
  10. Ayca Erakbas (Hallandale Beach, FL) $5,745
Tournaments: Tuesday's tournament schedule begins at 10:00am, with a $90 No Limit Hold'em Satellite into Event #2 of the Isle Poker Classic ($360 No Limit Hold'em 6-Max | $15,000 GTD).  The satellite is structured with 10,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.

At 2:00pm, Event #2 of the Isle Poker Classic ($360 No Limit Hold'em 6-Max | $15,000 GTD) gets underway.  The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 20,000 units, levels that last (30) minutes, and registration that is open through Level 8.  The 6-Max format is a player favorite, so this event is expected to attract a nice sized field.

The slate wraps up at 6:00pm, with Event #3 of the Isle Poker Classic, which is a $175 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD).  The "Tuesday night staple" (even outside of the series) is structured with 20,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 10.

Promotions: Outside of the "standard" high hands, the poker opens with the "new" Full House Promotion.  The proceedings begin once the doors of the poker room open, with the first (25) full houses made, earning a $40 prize.  Each jackpot eligible cash game is included in the promotion, with two rules to keep in mind, when thinking about winning the $40.  In order to be eligible, the full  house must be made using two cards, and must be the winning hand.

The day's "standard" high hand period will last from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
