Monday, December 4th: Three Isle Classic Champs Crowned, Marchese The Largest As Satellite Winner Of The Main

Isle Classic Event #1 Winner Joseph Marchese (Coral Springs, FL)

ICYMI: The first weekend of the 2017 Isle Classic was headlined by Event #1, a $1,500 No Limit Hold'em event with a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool.  The tournament had (184) entries over the pair of opening flights, with (12) players entering before Day 2 began, bringing the overall total to (196).  The number would fall just (26) entries short of the guaranteed number, meaning the series would open up with small overlay.  Once registration closed, and Day 2 saw the first cards pitched, the official payouts would be posted shortly thereafter.  A total of (25) players would reach the money, with a min-cash worth $2,217, and first place scheduled to take home $73,585.  Even with an extremely generous structure, the storyline of the day was "speed," as the proceedings played out at a rapid rate.  The money bubble was reached just three levels into the day, with most every name to reach the money notable player to the blog.  We also saw two players that bought in on Day 2 reach the money, with Richard Kirsch finishing in 21st place ($3,621), and Stewart Newman making the event's final table (7th place | $10,050).

Even though a Day 3 was scheduled for this event, things were moving well ahead of schedule, with the final table reached shortly after the dinner break.  Stephen Smith (Juno Beach, FL) entered as the chip leader, but after three hours of play, and the eliminations of Adam Adler, David T. Rubenstein, and Israel De La Cerda...the landscape was changed dramatically.  Joseph Marchese and Kevin Chan were the chip leaders six-handed, with the two staying that way until heads-up play was reached...and a deal was made.  The results from the final table are listed below, with the full results of the tournament found by clicking here.
