ICYMI: Yesterday was the opening flight of the inaugural Card Player Poker Tour Main Event, an $1,100 No Limit Hold'em tournament, which boasts a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool. With registration open throughout the day, the numbers would not be made official until the bagging process started, with the tournament clock showing (50) entries.
When the bags were brought out, it would be Tom Gity (Pompano Beach, FL) leading the field, who made an early surge to climb to the top of the leaderboard. Later in the evening, Gity would win a massive flip against Ian O'Hara, with the two holding a pair of the top ten stacks remaining. Tom would end the night by bagging 223,000, while O'Hara was able to recover, and pack away 102,500 for Day 2.
Other notables rounding out the top three counts from Flight 1A, were Raminder Singh and Albert Destrade. It was a tale of two stories how they got there though, with Singh turning his 30,000 unit starting stacks into 219,000 in two levels, while Destrade used a steady climb to finish with 191,000. The full counts from Flight 1A are posted below:
Tom Gity - 223,000
Raminder Singh - 219,000
Albert Destrade - 191,000
Noel Atherley - 179,500

The official prize pool sits at $49,250, with two more starting flights scheduled to be played. The Event #8 action resumes this afternoon, with Flight 1B getting underway at 2:00pm.
Tournaments: There are three tournaments on today's schedule, all revolving around the Card Player Poker Tour $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Main Event. The action starts at 10:00am, with a $250 No Limit Hold'em Satellite Into Event #8 ($1,100 CPPT Main Event), which carries a (5) seat guarantee. The satellite is structured with 12,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (20) minutes. Registration is open through Level 8 (and the ten minute break that follows), allowing just under three hours for players to join the action.
At 2:00pm, we see the second flight of the Card Player Poker Tour Main Event. The $1,100 No Limit Hold'em tournament boasts a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool, which should be easily attained. The event has a major structure, with players sitting down to 30,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (40) minutes (during each starting flights). Those levels will eventually transition to (50) minutes when Day 2 starts. Registration is open throughout all of Day 1 (which is scheduled to play through Level 13), and stays open before the first hand is dealt on Sunday (Day 2).
The final tournament of the day is another $250 No Limit Hold'em Satellite Into Card Player Poker Tour Event #8, which mirrors (in structure) the same satellite from earlier in the day. The only difference between the two satellites is the guarantee, as this 6:00pm installment boasts a very healthy (10) seat guarantee.
Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes. The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-600pm, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes. During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.
