Players are now back from their final break of the flight, with four full levels remaining in the day (unless the 10% mark is reached, which is 11 players).  There have been many inquiries and requests from players recently, in regards to tournament results from November (and some from further back).  We would like everyone to know that any (and all) backlogged tournament results have been submitted to Hendon Mob, and should be updated by the end of the weekend.  If there are any results that players aren't seeing (whether recurring or from a major event), please don't hesitate to stop the blogger...and let him know.

Isle Poker Classic Event #1 (Flight 1G): Registration Closes For The Largest Opening Flight (151 Entries), Prize Pool Now Close To $130,000

2018 Isle Poker Classic (Event #1)

Total Flight 1G Entries: 151
Flight 1G Players Remaining: 82

Registration is now closed for Flight 1G, with the tournament clock showing (151) entries, making this the largest opening Event #1 flight.  The $23,858 from Flight 1G now brings the overall prize pool to $128,296.  With the size of the prize pool, and one flight remaining (this evening at 6:00pm), we could see the end number somewhere around $150,000.  There are currently (82) players remaining in the flight, with updated chip counts from the field to be posted shortly.

Isle Poker Classic Event #1 (Flight 1G): James Kinzey Taking The Chip Lead To The Registration Break

2018 Isle Poker Classic (Event #1)
$200 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack"
$100,000 GTD
Level 8 (Blinds 400/800/800)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 148

James Kinzey's name is not one that we readily recognize, but regardless of familiarity, he is leading the Flight 1G field at registration break.

Players from what is now the largest Event #1 flight are heading on their registration break, with the window closing once the first Level 9 hand is dealt.  James Kinzey, who is a relative unknown, currently leads the field with just over 160,000.  A search of Kinzey's name on Hendon Mob did not yield any results, but that could also happen if either the first or last name that had been submitted in the past, is different than what James uses for his Fan Club card here at the Isle Casino Pompano Park.

Once play resumes, we will bring followers the official numbers from Flight 1G, with updated chip counts from the field to follow.

Isle Poker Classic Event #1 (Flight 1G): Tom Gity Adds Another Sizable Score To His Resume, Padding The 2018 Stats

2018 Isle Poker Classic (Event #1)
$200 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack"
$100,000 GTD
Level 7 (Blinds 300/600/600)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 137

Tom Gity (Pompano Beach, FL) busted yesterday's afternoon flight on the final hand of play, but has put that behind him, and is now looking to bag chips for tomorrow's Day 2.

Tom Gity (Pompano Beach, FL) has been a "frequent flyer" on the Isle Poker Room's blog, but for good reason...as he's been playing at a very high level.  Tom now has $134,019 in cashes for 2018, making this year his best, in regards to money earned.  A majority of that number was won in the last few months, with two five-figure scores since October.  Gity won the $2,500 No Limit Hold'em 8-Max during the Isle  Open, getting $29,000 in a heads-up chop with Heinz Schluter.  Tom then followed that up with a deep run in the $3,500 No Limit Hold'em WPT Rock N' Roll Poker Open Championship Event, finishing in 32nd place (for $15,105).

Gity's lifetime earnings are now over $292,000 (with some backlogged Isle Poker events yet to have been updated on Hendon Mob), but it's all about one goal for him...getting to the top of the all-time cashes list here at the Isle.  It's something he set out to do just over a year ago, and Tom has his eyes firmly set on that number one spot (he's currently fifth on the list).

Isle Poker Classic Event #1 (Flight 1G): Errol Massey Returns, After Four Month Tournament Sabatical

2018 Isle Poker Classic (Event #1)
$200 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack"
$100,000 GTD
Level 6 (Blinds 300/500/500)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 116

Errol Massey (Miami, FL) said he was going to stay away from tournament poker for six months, but only ended up making it four, as he's back in action today.

After cashing in a $360 Pot Limit Omaha 8B (Hi/Lo) in August (at Hard Rock), Errol Massey (Miami, FL) decided he was going to take six months off from tournaments.  While he fell short of the half-year goal, Massey did abstain from tournaments for just over four months.  His actual return was during yesterday's afternoon flight, but after his bid to bag chips fell short, he's back in action today.  Massey has over $246,000 in live tournament earnings, of which $42,281 was earned this year (which has been his best statistical year).

Massey tops the second list of notables in the Flight 1G field, joining the likes of:

Antonio Campbell
Bernard Lubitz
David Poces
Rafael Calero
Craig Witz
Robert Transue
Susan Krowitz
Lisa Do
Larry Bass
Jonathan Lane
O'Neil McCalla

Isle Poker Classic Event #1 (Flight 1G): Alibrandi Looking To Build Off Largest 2018 Tournament Cash

2018 Isle Poker Classic (Event #1)
$200 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack"
$100,000 GTD
Level 5 (Blinds 200/400/400)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 103

Paula Alibrnadi (Miramar, FL) has had a solid past month of tournament poker, and hopes to add some more memorable moments, before the year wraps up.

November was a good month for Paula Alibrandi (Miramar, FL), beginning with the Deepstacks Charity Festival.  During the festival's main event (Howard Frank Memorial Tournament), Paula survived a very memorable final table bubble, and won herself a trip to Las Vegas (and entry into a tournament at the Venetian).  The package was worth close to $4,000, with the potential to also parlay that tournament entry into an even bigger score.  Fast forward three weeks, and Paula finds herself at another final table, this time the $1,650 No Limit Hold'em Purple Chip Bounty (during the Rock N' Roll Poker Open).  She would end up finishing in fifth place, for a return of $7,382 (and however many bounties won), which was her largest score of 2018.

Paula's lifetime earnings are now $149,513, as she sits just a small score away from eclipsing the $150,000 mark.  She was one of the most recent entries into the Flight 1G field, and joins a group of notables, all hoping to bag chips this afternoon:

Pedro Palacio
Errol Massey
Thomas Macey
Ronald Levy
William Farnan
Andre Rakusa
John Magnetta
TJ Shulman
Christopher Gilkey
Julian Wolghemuth

Isle Poker Classic Event #1 (Flight 1G): With The Guarantee In The Rear-View Mirror, Final Flights Get Underway

$200 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack"
$100,000 GTD
Level 1 (Blinds 100/100)
Total Flight 1G Entries: N/A

Six opening flights for Event #1 of the Isle Poker Classic are now in the books, with the event already attracting incredibly impressive numbers.  Entering play today, the tournament field sits at (661) entries, which equates to a prize pool of $104,438.  The $100,000 guarantee that was posted on the event was eclipsed during last night's flight (Flight 1F), with the final number expected to eclipse $135,000.  The "monster stack" element of the tournament has been a huge hit with the players, and will allow for some very deep Day 2 play tomorrow (Day 2 begins at 12:00pm).

There are just two Event #1 flights remaining, with the first of the pair getting underway just moments ago.  Everyone is currently looking up at Chad Whitman, who bagged the overall Day 2 chip lead (during Flight 1E) play, returning to a stack of 597,000 tomorrow.  It's a lofty goal for those still yet to bag, but is definitely attainable.  A full list of Day 2 chip counts will be posted shortly, followed by our first look at notables in today's field.

Sunday, December 2nd: Event #1 Surpasses The $100,000 Guarantee, With Still Two Flights To Be Played!!!

ICYMI: Saturday saw the continuation of Event #1, and was a milestone day for the tournament, as the $100,000 guarantee was surpassed during the evening flight (Flight 1F).  In total, there were a combined (252) entries over the course of the day, split 145 (Flight 1E) and 107 (Flight 1F) respectively.  After registration closed in Flight 1F, the tournament clock would show an overall prize pool of $104,438, with the final pair of flights yet to be played.

Of the (17) players to bag chips from the afternoon flight (Flight 1E), Chad Whitman would reach the process with the largest stack (597,000).  Not only was it the biggest stack from Flight 1E, but after six completed flights, it's the top stack heading to Day 2.  Some other notables to bag from Flight 1E included Joshua Beckley (548,000), Allan Bieler (500,000), and Devond Marshall (310,000).

A total of (16) players reached the bagging process in Flight 1F, none of which were able to eclipse the 300,000 mark (a number we did see from the first five flights).  Vito Polera bagged the Flight 1F chip lead (292,000), with a handful of players right behind him.  Carey Pickus (278,000), Claudionei Barbosa (275,000), Francklin Michel (265,000), and Alan Leon (240,000) all bagged with 50,000 of the flight's chip leader.

Event #1 of the Isle Poker Classic now has a total of (633) entries, and (as mentioned above) a prize pool of $104,438.  Today is the final opportunity for players to join the action, and considering the success of this tournament, it should be a busy final day.

Tournaments: Today is the final opportunity for players to join Event #1 of the Isle Classic ($200 No Limit Hold'em $100,000 GTD), whether it be via one of the two scheduled flights, or the final satellite for the tournament. The two flights (Flight 1G at 11:00am, and Flight 1H at 6:00pm) are structured with 30,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (30) minutes.  Registration is open through Level 8, with each of the flights schedule to conclude after Level 16, or until the 10% mark is reached (whichever occurs first).

In between the two flights (at 2:00pm) is a $55 No Limit Hold'em Satellite, offering the opportunity for players to join the Event #1 action, for a fraction of the price.  The satellite is structured with 10,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration open through Level 8.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

From 12:00am-9:00am (Friday into Saturday), the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
