Players are just starting to arrive for today's headlining event, Flight 1A of the $360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD).  This is the month's second multi-flight tournament, and coming off a successful holiday weekend event ($175 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 GTD), great things are expected over the next five days.

Today's flight (along with the five that will follow over the next four days) is structured with 20,000 unit starting stacks, and will be played with levels that last (30) minutes over the course of the event.  Registration for each flight is open through Level 8, and continues to stay open through the ten minute break that follows.  Each of the starting flights will play down to 8% of the field, with 12.5% making the money on Day 1.  That is the one change in this particular event, from prior tournaments that used the same structure, as those events played down to 5%.  Players were very vocal about the length of time that those flights took to get down to 5%, so that number was raised to 8%.  Things should not take entirely as long, making this tournament's structure more "player-friendly."

The cards will be in the air just moments from now, with all of the official numbers from the flight (and the following flights) to be updated here on the blog.

Thursday, September 6th: Today Marks The Beginning Of The $360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD), And Everything That Surrounds It

ICYMI: Yesterday's tournament schedule hosted two satellites into this weekend's $360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD).  Between the pair of events, a total of (6) seats were awarded into the month's second multi, with the follows players earning seats:
  1. Richard Arenson (Port St. Lucie, FL)
  2. Jay Convente (Jupiter, FL)
  3. John Compton (Sumptner, SC)
  4. Joseph Marchese (Coral Springs, FL)
  5. Celso Leroy (Delray Beach, FL)
  6. FranFcisco Aquique (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
Tournaments: Today's tournament schedule, along with the next four days, will have events surrounding the $360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD).  The day's schedule will begin at 10:00am, with a $90 No Limit Hold'em Satellite Into $360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD), with (5) seats guaranteed.  The satellite is structured with 10,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8 (and the ten minute break that will follow).

As the satellite is wrapping up, Flight 1A will kick off the action (2:00pm) for the $360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD).  The opening flight is structured with 20,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that will last (30) minutes throughout the tournament.  Registration is open through Level 8, and will stay open during the ten minute break that follows the level.  The "Day 1 payouts" return, with 12.5% of each opening flight reaching the money, and 8% reaching Day 2.  That is the big change in the structure, as events that used this structure in the past (FSPC Event #4 and CPPT Event #1) played down to 5%.  Players thought that things lasted too long, so the switch was made, which should keep from the starting flights lasting as long as they did.  Players that bag chips in the flight, will return Monday (September 10th), to finish things out on Day 2.

The top of the "tournament sandwich" is then put on at 6:00pm, with another $90 No Limit Hold'em Satellite Into $360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD).  The satellite carries the same structure as the 10:00am event that came before it, expect there will be (10) seats guaranteed.

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
