ICYMI: Father's Day "Last Longer" Sees Players Entered Competing For $10,000 WSOP Main Event Seat!!!

What is a "last longer" in a poker tournament (following definition provided from a recent web search): Last longer is a side wager between tournament players, on who will be last to get knocked out.  Whoever last the longer wins the wager, and any prizes agreed upon.

It's a pretty common occurrence among familiar faces in the tournament poker world.  The Isle Casino Pompano Park Poker Room is "raising the ante" so to say, as they introduce a "last longer" option for the $600 No Limit Hold'em ($30,000 GTD) on Sunday (June 18th).  Players in the event will have a choice to enter into a Last Longer with other tournament attendees, separate from the $600 tournament buy-in.

Monday, June 13th: Jorge Rivera Wins Sunday's $600 No Limit Hold'em ($30,000 GTD) Outright, Earning Almost $13,000!!!

ICYMI: Sunday's $600 No Limit Hold'em ($30,000 GTD) is a great opportunity for players to make a sizable score, as we saw during yesterday's action.  The tournament easily surpassed the posted guarantee, with the tournament clock showing (69) entries at the end of registration.  The $37,122 prize pool was scheduled to be spread across the top nine spots, with action playing through the money bubble, and down to an outright winner.  Jorge Rivera (Hollywood, FL) bested Patrick Quinn (Toronto, Canada) during heads-up play, taking home $12,994 for his efforts.  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:

  1. Jorge Rivera (Hollywood, FL) $12,994
  2. Patrick Quinn (Toronto, Canada) $7,424
  3. Evan Teitelbaum (Boca Raton, FL) $4,547
  4. Peter Cleven (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $3,248
  5. Daniel Castoro (Deerfield Beach, FL) $2,506
  6. Richard Leger (Lighthouse Point, FL) $1,949
  7. Mark Rakoff (West Palm Beach, FL) $1,670
  8. David Albertson (Coral Springs, FL) $1,485
  9. Jonathan Jimenez (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,299

Tournaments: At 5:00pm this evening, the $250 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) "Final Table Finish" returns, with a little wrinkle.  This particular tournament had such a good structure, that the final table action ran into the closing time of the poker room (players are then faced with chopping, or bagging for a Day 2).  To keep that from occurring, there will be some slight changes moving forward.

The event will be structured with 25,000 chip starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and open registration through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  The new format-wrinkle comes into play when discussing payouts, as the tournament will pay out just the final table, regardless of how many entries.  Exact payout percentages are as follows (final tables are now nine-handed):
  1. 40%
  2. 18%
  3. 10%
  4. 7%
  5. 7%
  6. 6%
  7. 6%
  8. 3%
  9. 3%

These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.
