After sixteen levels of play, the chip lead belongs to Guillermo Hamilton (Miami, FL), who is taking over 470,000 to Day 2.  Hamilton found himself atop the leaderboard just before the flight's final break, and while he had some competition, it's was cruise control over the last hands of the afternoon.  Official Flight 1G chip counts will be posted in just over an hour, with Flight 1H counts published early tomorrow morning (along with Day 2 seating assignments).

The tournament clock just transitioned into Level 16, which is the final scheduled level of flight.  Players will continue through the 10:00 minute mark, at which point the clock will be paused, and the amount of hands remaining will be announced.  Once those hands are finished at each table, the bagging process will begin, and players will pack up their chips for Sunday (Day 2 at 12:00pm).

The official chip counts from the flight, along with the winner of the chip lead bonus, will be posted once all bags have been verified.

Paul Nguyen is one of three players that are currently above the 300,000 mark, and hoping to bag the flight's chip lead bonus.

We mentioned the potential for some big stacks to come out of this flight, and things are just starting to take shape (as expected).  There are three players in the field over 300,000, having gained a god amount of separation from the rest of the field.  One of those players is Paul Nguyen, who is pictured above, but didn't give us a lot of information to go off of (so it's been difficult to find past results).  Paul says that he's on the superstitious side...so for now, we will just post his chip count:

Guillermo Hamilton - 385,000 (128bb)
Frank McCool - 340,000 (113bb)
Paul Nguyen - 320,000 (106bb)

Frank McCool (Greenville, MS) isn't from around these parts, but sits down to the table with a tournament resume that boasts over $61,000 in earnings.

The cards are once again in the air, with only four levels remaining in this second to last opening flight of the tournament.  The race for the chip lead bonus is heating up, with the $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Single-Ante ($200,000 GTD) seat still very much up for grabs.  The top five stacks in the field (at the midway point of Level 13) are listed below:

Frank McCool - 220,000 (110bb)
Guillermo Hamilton - 195,000 (97bb)
Paul Nguyen - 190,000 (95bb)
George Navarro - 150,000 (75bb)

Guillermo Hamilton (Miami, FL) is in full "stealth-mode," rocking the mirrored shades, and fully zippered hoodie.

Flight 1G players are about to head on their final break, and surprisingly, there hasn't been a runaway chip leader to this point.  When multi-flight tournaments see fields of this size, it a common occurrence to see at least one player bag a stack in the 400,000 range.  We are still waiting on our first 200,000 stack of the day, with only four levels remaining in the afternoon.  Guillermo Hamilton (Miami, FL) is the closest player to that number, as he heads to break with 190,000.  Hamilton is a Florida tournament veteran, having been recording cashes since 2011.  He has over $242,000 in lifetime earrings, including a career highlighting win during the 2014 Isle Classic.  In that series, Guillermo won the $330 No Limit Hold'em event, earning $81,690.

Anthony Bennett (Palm Beach, FL) had one foot out the door, but ended up flopping the nuts in a four-way all-in pot.

After limping from early position, Anthony Bennett (Palm Beach, FL) would see three players shove all-in behind.  Being that he only had 10,300 begin, and would more than quadruple with a win, Anthony made the call:

Bennett: J 9
Player X: A♠ A
Stephen Smith: 7♠ 7
Player Y: A 10

Runout: Q♠ 10 8♣ K 2

Anthony ended up flopping the nut straight, and although he still had to fade the river, the hand held up for Bennett.  He went from 10,300 for 45,000 in the hand, and is now just below the chip average.

Anthony Bennett - 45,600 (38bb)

Marc Sacheli (Miami, FL) has taken multiple stabs in today's flight, but it hoping that this last second entry is the one that finds traction.

Marc Sacheli (Miami, FL) was one of the last entries to make it into the Flight 1G field, and didn't take long to introduce himself to the table.  Just three hands into Level 9, Sacheli was all-in pre-flop, against another player that just sat down with a 18,000 unit starting stack.  Sacheli was ahead when the cards were tabled, holding A♠ 7♠ against Q♠ J.  The board would run out K 4♣ 6 4 7♣, and Sacheli would win with a pair of sevens.

While Marc is for from the chip lead in the flight, he is now sitting with double the starting stack, and has a manageable stack of forty big blinds.

Marc Sacheli - 40,000 (40bb)

Richard Wetter (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) is the early chip leader in Flight 1G, but will need to continue the upward trend, if he has sights on the bonus.

Flight 1G of the $175 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD) has officially closed with 227 entries, bringing the overall total to 1,089.  The current prize pool sits at $143,748, with tonight's final flight coming up at 6:00pm.  The potential is there for a $175,000 prize pool, but players interested in playing this evening should come in early, because the numbers that are expected may bring the alternates into play.

Listed below are some updated counts from the field, tallied just a few minutes into Level 9:

Richard Wetter - 130,000 (162bb)
Paul Vieira - 125,000 (156bb)
Robert Golden - 105,000 (131bb)
Harjinder Chawla - 100,000 (125bb)
Julian Durity - 90,000 (112bb)
Elidor Oz - 90,000 (112bb)
Frank McCool - 90,000 (112bb)

Total Flight 1G Entries: 223

Stephen Smith (Juno Beach, FL) is three months removed from his largest lifetime cash, when he finished fourth in the $1,100 WPT Deepstacks event during the Lucky Hearts Poker Open ($74,549).

With just fifteen minutes left in Level 8, Stephen Smith (Juno Beach, FL) finds himself towards the top of the leaderboard.  Smith headed to a flop (three-way) in a raised pot, and watched as the dealer fanned out a flop of J 4 4.  The original would lead for 10,000, with the other active player in the hand then shoving for 14,575.  Both Smith and the bettor made the call, and after the K♠ on the turn, Smith would put his opponent all-in (after action checked to him).  The bet would be enough to elicit a fold, and Smith would win the side pot, but the main pot was still to be settled.

When the cards were tabled, it would be the K♣ J♠ of Smith against the A 2 of A. Nonymous, with the two pair holding up after the 7♣ on the river.  Smith chipped up to 105,000 with the pot, and is one of just a handful of players to have eclipsed the century mark.

Players are about to head on their second break of the day, and when action resumes with Level 9, registration for the flight will be closed.  Official numbers and updated chip counts will follow the break.

"$175 NLH $100,000 GTD" (Flight 1G): Set Mining Works For Genachte, Finds Himself A Double (Plus Some More)

$175 No Limit Hold'em

Level 7 (Blinds 250/500/75)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 201

Of Daniel Genachte's (141) recorded tournament results on Hendon Mob, his last five cashes have come here at the Isle Poker Room.

Passing Table 9, we'd spot a large pot that had just unfolded, with Daniel Genachte (Deerfield Beach, FL) on the winning end.  After calling a raise pre with 5♠ 5, Genachte would go three-ways to a flop of 4♣ 10♣ 5, with all the chips getting in (for a pot worth close to 80,000):

Flop: 4♣ 10♣ 5

Genachte: 5♠ 5
Karin Powsner: Q♠ Q
Player X: K♣ Q♣

Turn: J♠
River: J

Daniel flopped bottom set to grab the lead, but still needed to fade his opponents outs on the turn and river.  The streets would both run out smooth for Genachte, who had his stack counted down, and then received 21,950 from Powsner.  Those chips, along with the main pot, would put Daniel towards the top of the chip counts.

Daniel Genachte - 78,000 (156bb)

After winning an Isle Classic trophy in December, Chris Lawson (Livingston, TX) returned to the Isle Poker Room in January, February, and now in April.

Chris Lawson (Livingston, TX) travels across the country playing poker tournaments, but now has an affinity for the Isle Poker Room, as grabbing his largest cash here at the end of last year.  Lawson bested a field of (679) entries to take down the $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD) event during the 2017 Isle Classic.  Chris held a commanding lead at the event's final table, and ended up receiving first place money in a five-way deal.  The $26,293 score still stands as his best results, and after cashing in the WSOP Circuit Main Event at Tulsa just a few weeks ago, Lawson is back in action at the Isle.

Lawson continues the long list of recognizable faces in this Flight 1G field, which includes names such as:

Steven Novak
David Ward
Gregory Spinder
Frank Traino
Zoltan Czinkota
Karin Powsner
Danny Blackburn
Joseph Mancuso
Jerrold Solov

Level 5 (Blinds 150/300/50)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 180

Charlemagne Benjamin (Miami Gardens, FL) claims to run terrible here at the Isle Poker Room, but he can't say that about his start to Flight 1G.

As the Flight 1G field continues to grow, so does the chip stack of Charlemagne Benjamin (Miami Gardens, FL).  Benjamin and Randolph Lipton just got it all-in on the flop, with the board reading 4♠ 4 6, and the two holding very similar stacks.  Charlemagne was in good position with A 3, against the K Q of Lipton, with the 5 on the turn leaving Lipton drawing dead.  Benjamin's stack was just a few thousand larger than Lipton, meaning Randolph would have to exit the table, while Charlemagne chipped up to 60,000.

Benjamin is just one of an large group of notables names in this Flight 1G field, a lot of which we are seeing for the first time this week:

Pedro Palacio (Delray Beach, FL) enters the field with a lot of confidence, coming off a final table finish in one of the largest events in the country.

In the final seconds of Level 2, the tournament clock showed (138) entries, meaning that the $175 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD) reached a total of 1,000 entries.  As eye-popping as that sound, the field is only going to grow larger over the next ten hours, with tonight's flight still yet to come, and registration still open in this afternoon flight.  The currently prize pool is over $135,000, and should eclipse the $150,000 mark before the first level of tonight's flight.

One of the early entries in today's flight was Pedro Palacio (Delray Beach, FL), who is coming off a run of a lifetime.  After winning a seat into the $3,500 No Limit Hold'em WPT Championship during the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, Palacio fell just two spots short of the televised final table, exiting the event in eighth place.  The $86,740 that he earned for the result was the largest of his career, and helped bring his lifetime earnings over $352,000.  Pedro's run is proof that given the opportunity, players that grind these daily events at properties in the area, are very capable of hanging with some of the best in the world.

Players will be heading on their first break at the end of this level, and will be returning to Level 4, with new blinds of 150/300/50.

Before delving into today's action, we are going to give blog followers a brief reminder about next week's big tournament.  The $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Single-Ante ($200,000 GTD) is the poker room's first multi-flight event to use the single-ante format, which has become so popular since introducing it to the Florida poker community last August.  The $1,100 price point is also running outside of the series for the first time ever, boasting a very healthy guaranteed prize pool of $200,000.  If that number seems a little out of reach for players, there are numerous (which is an understatement) opportunities to join for a fraction of the prize.  Beginning on April 23rd (Monday), and running through the final opening day of the tournament, a wide array of satellites are offered for players.  The above structure sheet and flyer list all of the information players would need to know in regards to the tournament.

This is officially a "special" event, as the posted prize pool for the $175 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD) has already been surpassed, with today's pair of flights yet to have gotten underway.  To this point in the tournament, there have been (862) entries, with (105) players successfully bagging chips for tomorrow's Day 2.  The prize pool entering today's action is $113,784, with today's flights expected to attract the largest fields we've seen all week.

Today's flights carry the same structure as those that came before, with starting stacks of 18,000 units, and levels that will last (25) minutes over the course of the event.  Registration is open through Level 8 (and the break that follows), with the day scheduled to end at the conclusion of Level 16 (or if the 10% mark is reached). Players that successfully bag chips for Day 2 will be returning this Sunday, with action resuming at 12:00pm.  The chip lead bonus is also back (as we just mentioned), with the top stack from each starting flight, earning a seat into next week's $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Single-Ante ($200,000 GTD).

Saturday, April 21st: The Only Question Left...How Big Will The Prize Pool Get?

ICYMI: Friday hosted the third pair of starting flights for the $175 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD), and happened to by the busiest day of the event so far.  The two opening flights attracted a combined total of (391) entries, which was significant in different ways.  Not only did we see the largest single flight (Flight 1F with 232 entries), but with the numbers, the tournament's guarantee was surpassed just two hours into the evening flight.  With the $100,000 prize pool in the rear view mirror, the question that remains is, how large can the number get?

To this point, there have been (862) total entries, with (105) players successfully bagging chips for tomorrow's Day 2.  The prize pool sits at $113,784, with the final pair of starting flights on today's schedule.  If we see a day that resembles yesterday's happenings, it's possible for the overall prize pool to reach $150,000.  Recapping Friday's storylines: Raminder Singh wins the chip lead bonus for Flight 1E, bagging 318,000.  Alex Martinez then followed Singh into the $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Single-Ante ($200,000 GTD), after putting 327,500 in his Day 2 bag.

Players interested in potentially grabbing a piece of this massive prize pool have today's final pair of flights to join, with Flight 1G beginning at 11:00am, followed by Flight 1H at 6:00pm.

Tournaments: The starting flights for the $175 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD) finish up today, as the month's first multi-day tournament grows even larger than ever expected.  These are the final opportunities to join the action, with players that successfully bag chips, returning on Sunday for Day 2.  The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 18,000 units, and levels that will last (25) minutes over the course of the tournament.  Registration is open through Level 8 (and the break that follows), with the opening flights scheduled to play through Level 16 (or unless the 10% mark is reached before that point).  The chip lead bonus is back in a big way, as the largest stack bagged from each flight, will earn a seat into next week's $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Single-Ante ($200,000 GTD). Live blogged coverage will be available during each afternoon flight, as well as Day 2 (detailed coverage).

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted that started back on November 1st, players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand!!!  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
