Tuesday, June 21st: Ian Cohen Now Right In The Thick Of Leaderboard Race, After Topping Monday's "Final Table Finish"

ICYMI: Monday's $250 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) has long been a critical tournament for players in the Player of the Month leaderboard race, especially if the tournament plays down to it's later stages (when the leaderboard points are not effected as drastically by a multi-way chop).  Last night's installment attracted a total of (128) entries, which equated to an impressive prize pool of $26,624.  The action played through the money bubble, and down to a heads-up final table.  After the elimination of John Dollinger in third place, Ian Cohen and John Ristich agreed to a heads-up deal, with Cohen taking home first place money (and the ever-important 39.67 leaderboard points).  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:
  1. Ian Cohen (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $8,252
  2. Jacob Ristich (Hollywood, FL) $7,190
  3. John Dollinger (Coral Springs, FL) $2,662
  4. Matthew Porter (Boca Raton, FL) $1,864
  5. Adam Mammon (Lauderhill, FL) $1,864
  6. Herbert Souza (Boca Raton, FL) $1,331
  7. Vedapal Manohar (Avenel, NJ) $1,065
  8. Angelo Castaldi (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,065

Tournaments: The $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) tournament had a very successful first run, and is now a member of the "recurring" tournament family.  The tournament is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, and has (20) minute levels throughout.  Registration is open through Level 8, and closes once the first hand of Level 9 is dealt (there is a short break between the two).

Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 12:00pm, there is a new promotion in June, offering boosted Early Bird High Hands.  The high hand at the top of the hour (:00) will be awarded $599, while the high hands at the bottom of the hour (:30) will be awarded $300.  From 12:00pm until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

6:00pm: $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD)
  • Players start with 15,000 in tournament chips
  • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
