Level 16 (Blinds 2,500/5,000/5,000)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 182
Flight 1G Players Remaining: 28

Play is about to reach the fifteen minute mark of Level 16, meaning there is just five minutes remaining, and then five untimed hands.  After those five hands have been completed at each table, the bags will be brought out, and players will pack up their chips for tomorrow's Day 2.  Once all of the bags have been made official by tournament supervisors, we will post the final chip counts for Flight 1G (including the player to win the chip lead bonus).

FSPC Event #1 (Flight 1G): Notables Left In The Flight 1G Field

Bill Farnan (Jupiter, FL) is just one player on the list of notables that still remain in the Flight 1G field.

While there are too many players left to list all of the seating assignments, we can give you a short list of notables that are still alive in the Flight 1G field.  There is under an hour remaining in the day, with the bagging process beginning at the ten minute mark of Level 16.

FSPC Event #1 (Flight 1G): Sheirich Doubles Up, After Preecha Taepakdee Makes Hero Call

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #1 | $175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 14 (Blinds 2,000/3,000/3,000)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 182
Flight 1G Players Remaining: 41

Bill Sheirich (Daytona, FL) may have been trying to get a stronger hand to fold by going all-in on the turn, but ended up getting max-value out of his hand.

We approached Table 5 during a hand between Bill Sheirich and Preecha Taepakdee, with Sheirich all-in on the turn (of a board reading A Q 4♣ 3).  With almost 50,000 in the pot already, Taepakdee needed to call another 55,000 if he wanted to see the river (or thought he had the best hand).  Preecha cut out the chips for a call, and after assessing what he'd be left with, ended up making the call.

Sheirich tabled A 8, flopping a pair of aces, and turning the nut-flush draw.  Taepakdee followed by tabling A♠ 7, making what looked to be a "hero-ish" type call.  The river would bring the 6, locking up the double for Sheirich, and bringing his stack up to 170,000.

Bill Sheirich - 170,000 (56bb)
Preecha Taepakdee - 60,000 (20bb)

FSPC Event #1 (Flight 1G): Post-Break Chip Counts From The Flight 1G Field

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #1 | $175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 13 (Blinds 1,500/2,500/2,500)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 182
Flight 1G Players Remaining: 52

Adil Khan (Coral Springs, FL) is no stranger to the ups and downs of tournament poker, with over $155,000 in lifetime earnings.

It's crazy how the tables have turned for Adil Khan (Coral Springs, FL), who wad the player that had the earlier under-set against James Rustemian.  Khan was left with just over 50,000 after losing the hand to Kustemian, and since that point, has managed to run it up to 214,000.  That gives us yet another change atop the leaderboard, after having an afternoon (yesterday) when the same person held the top spot for most of the day.

Adil Khan - 214,000 (85bb)
Evan Teitelbaum - 146,000 (58bb)
Jeanocson Dalcy - 140,000 (56bb)
Moti Gany - 133,000 (53bb)
Preecha Taepakdee - 100,000 (40bb)
Danny Avitsur - 100,000 (40bb)

FSPC Event #1 (Flight 1G): Carey Pickus Leading The Ladies, Trying To Raise The Day 2 Number

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #1 | $175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 12 (Blinds 1,000/2,000/2,000)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 182
Flight 1G Players Remaining: 63

Carey Pickus (Palm Beach, FL) sits with just over 100,000, and looks to help raise the number of ladies returning for tomorrow's Day 2.

To this point in Event #1, there has only been one female player to have bagged Day 2 chips, with Carol Saxton returning to 79,500 tomorrow afternoon.  That's very surprising, considering the success we've seen from the ladies during these major series.  Carey Pickus (Palm Beach, FL) currently leads the eight women that remain in Flight 1G, a list that includes:

Megan Endres
Diane Linke
Susan Krowitz
Kimberly Jones
Kathy Sapp
Rebecca Dellagloria
Debra Nesser

Players will be heading on their final break of the flight (at the end of this level), returning to finish off the final four schedule levels.

FSPC Event #1 (Flight 1G): Set Over Set For Rustemian, Makes Him The New Chip Leader

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #1 | $175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 11 (Blinds 800/1,600/1,600)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 182
Flight 1G Players Remaining: 77

James Rustemian (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) finds himself atop the leaderboard, after a very fortunate flop saw him double up with middle set.

Directly behind the media table, we heard the dealer announce an all-in and a call, and walked over to the table to see what was unfolding.  It just happened to be the largest pot of the flight, as James Rustemian (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) flopped a set of tens (on a A 10 8 flop).  Rustemian was all-in for 88,800, up against a player who had him at risk, but was holding 8♠ 8♣.  James was looking to fade the one-outer, which he would do on the turn and river, subsequently doubling to over 190,000.  Rustemian immediately vaults to the top of the leaderboard, with six levels remaining in the flight.

James Rustemian - 190,000

FSPC Event #1 (Flight 1G): First Look At Updated Chip Counts From The Field

Event #1 | $175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 10 (Blinds 600/1,200/1,200)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 182
Flight 1G Players Remaining: 84

Evan Teitelbaum (Parkland, FL) finds himself atop the first posted leaderboard, and hopes to continue to stay at that position, which would free roll him into Event #9 ($1,100 NLH).

We've seen the original pair of chip leaders dip down from their peaking numbers, as a new name climbs to the top of the leaderboard.  Evan Teitelbaum (Parkland, FL) spent most of Level 8 scooping pots at Table 11, and was able to run his stack up to 130,000.  Teitelbaum is coming off a result during the MSPT series run at the Venetian, finishing 137th in Event #75 ($1,600 No Limit Hold'em), for a cash worth $5,179.  That brings the tournament veteran's career earnings to $830,516, and happened to be his (108th) recorded result on Hendon Mob.

Evan Teitelbaum - 132,000 (110bb)
Jeanocson Dalcy - 128,000 (106bb)
Alexander Thomas - 105,000 (87bb)
Bob Hartmann - 100,000 (83bb)
Rudy Miret - 80,000 (66bb)
Daniel Genachte - 75,000 (62bb)
Megan Endres - 65,000 (54bb)
Al Gomez - 65,000 (54bb)

FSPC Event #1 (Flight 1G): Second To Last Opening Flight Closes With (182) Entries,

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #1 | $175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 9 (Blinds 500/1,000/1,000)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 182
Flight 1G Players Remaining: 90

The registration for Flight 1G is now officially closed, with the final number of entries landing on (182).  That makes this flight the largest of the seven to have been played to this point, and helps bring the overall prize pool to $129,600.  With even larger numbers expected this evening, Event #1 could potentially finish up with a prize pool in the $170,000 range.  About half of the total entries remained at the start of Level 9, with the first look at updated chip counts to follow this post.

FSPC Event #1 (Flight 1G): Jeanocson Darcy Is The New Chip Leader, As Registration For Flight 1G Closes

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #1 | $175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 8 (Blinds 400/800/800)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 169

Jeanocson Dalcy is somewhat of a "wild card," with research in regards to his tournament history yielding no results.  Regardless, he's rocking the bucket hat like a true champ.

Play it currently at the midway point of Level 8, with just under fifteen minutes until players head on their second break.  Once the break is over, and the cards are in the air for Level 9, registration for Flight 1G will be closed.  There happens to be a new chip leader as players prepare for break, with Jeanocson Dalcy surpassing Bruce Snell.  Dalcy is sitting with 140,000, which is a number that many players would be happy to bag with.  Research on Dalcy's tournament history did not yield any results at all, and while that would lead one to believe he's new to the tournament community, it doesn't mean he lacks experience.

Once play does resume, we will take a look at the official numbers from Flight 1G, followed by the first look at updated chip counts from the field.

Jeanocson Dalcy - 140,000 (175bb)

FSPC Event #1 (Flight 1G): Bruce Snell's Start Is Something To Take Note Of

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #1 | $175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 7 (Blinds 300/600/600)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 161

Bruce Snell (Okeechobee, FL) has already become the first player to eclipse the century mark, gaining a lot of separation from the rest of the field.

With the size of today's field, an educated prediction would be one of larger stacks at the bagging process, than we've seen from the flights before.  What we didn't expect, was to see someone jump start their day like Bruce Snell (Okeechobee, FL), who is already over 130,000.  The tournament veteran has been recorded results here in Florida since 2011, amassing career earnings of $321,280.  His highlighting score came back in 2014, when he took third place in the $2,500 No Limit Hold'em Coco Poker Open Championship Event, held at Coconut Creek ($150,000).  It's been over three years since Bruce recorded a five-figure score, with a top four finish in this event guaranteeing a figure of such stature.

Bruce Snell - 131,000 (218bb)

FSPC Event #1 (Flight 1G): Dolline Willis Had One Foot Out The Door, But Sticks Around

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #1 | $175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 6 (Blinds 300/500/500)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 150

Dolline Willis was unsuccessful in bagging chips during yesterday afternoon's flight (Flight 1E), but tweeted her arrival once again today, which included a motivating quote.  Things didn't quite start the way she wanted though, as she just shoved her 1,900 stack (from the small blind), after the button raised to 900.  Two players that had already limped called her 1,900 all-in, with the original raiser then four-betting to 9,000.  Willis got some protection there, as the four-bet cleared out the field, leaving her Q 9 against the button's J♠ J♣.  The flop and turn brought no help to Dolline's hand, but she would spike a queen on the river, to gain new life in the flight.

After starting the hand with 1,900, she'd come out of things with 8,000, which is pretty unbelievable, considering the circumstances that needed to unfold to make that happen.

Dolline Willis - 8,200 (16bb)

FSPC Event #1 (Flight 1G): Rudy Miret Has Visions Of Another Deep Run In A $175 NLH Multi

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #1 | $175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 5 (Blinds 300/500/500)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 145

Rudy Miret (Pembroke Pines, FL) has crushed these $175 NLH multis as of late (in both April and June), and hopes to continue the trend this afternoon.

Just over a month ago, Rudy Miret (Pembroke Pines, FL) was beginning what would turn into a super deep run in the $175 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD) multi that ran the first week of June.  He would best (644) entries to reach the final six, at which point a deal was made.  Miret was the shortest of stacks at the time of the ICM chop, and benefited greatly, with a sixth place share of $5,000.  The deal came just two months after his breakout score, when Rudy chopped the $175 NLH multi that ran in April (4th place for $10,559).  To say that Miret likes the $175 NLH multi would be an understatement, as he's made $15,559 of his $20,133 lifetime earnings in this particular tournament structure.  Any plans of another deep run start with finding a bag, which Miret is currently tasked with.

Before we shift focus to the action at the tables, we need to continue the long list of notables in the Flight 1G field:

Lisa Teebagy
Michael Tait
Andrew Daire
David Poces
Joshua Wasserman
Eddie Uehara
Bill Farnan
David Shaw
Manfred Rosenow

FSPC Event #1 (Flight 1G): Flipping The Script, Adam Berman Take His Seat In The Field

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #1 | $175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 4 (Blinds 200/300/300)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 115

Adam Berman (Hollywood, FL) won't have to worry about making any floor calls this afternoon, as he sheds his work attire, for a more laid back look.

Who loves it more than someone who spends their days either pitching cards or supervising poker tournaments...and their days off playing in poker tournaments? Adam Berman (Hollywood, FL) may be a new name to followers of the blog, but to most of the players in the field, he's well known.  Berman works at a nearby poker room, both as a dealer and tournament supervisor, doing each of the jobs in excellent fashion (in this blogger's opinion).  Adam is no stranger to playing in the tournaments as well, with just under $5,000 in lifetime earnings.  His most recent cash came during a recurring event here at the Isle Poker Room (last year), with his career best score occurring during the 2009 Battles At The Beach.  Berman final tabled the $550 No Limit Hold'em event during the series, finishing in eighth place for $2,220.

Berman continues our list of recognizable faces in the field, joining the likes of:

Megan Endres
Kimberly Jones
Steven Bennett
David Miller
Dolline Willis
Benjamin Robinson
Steve Olivier
Jonathan Brody

Players will be taking their first break of the day at the end of this level (just over fifteen minutes), returning to Level 5, and new blinds of 200/300/300.

FSPC Event #1 (Flight 1G): Graffeo Looking To Add Some Hardware To The Mantle

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #1 | $175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 3 (Blinds 100/200/200)
Total Flight 1G Entries: 94

Michael Graffeo (Boca Raton, FL) has a number of sizable scores on his resume, including a final table finish in the $1,500 NLH Main Event during the 2017 Battles At The Beach.

To no surprise, this opening Sunday flight is off to a screaming start, with almost (100) entries at the start of Level 3.  We can liken today to a Saturday during our normally scheduled multis, with players knowing these two flights are their final opportunities to grab a piece of the growing prize pool.  Michael Graffeo (Boca Raton, FL) was seated early, and is looking to put himself in position to grab his first Isle Poker trophy.  His mantle is already populated with a pretty prestigious trophy, winning the WPT DeepStacks $1,100 NLH Main Event at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood.  He bested a field of 1,509 entries to ship the trophy, and the $290,687 that came along with it.  Graffeo's tournament resume, which is one of the more impressive in the room, currently boasts over $624,000 in earnings.

Michael makes up the large group of notables in this Flight 1G field, a list that includes names like:

Ory Hen
Steve Zukowski
Kevin Scarola
Joseph Mancuso
Al Gomez
Irwin Block
Evan Teitelbaum
Preecha Taepakdee
Diane Linke
Marc Duqeutte

FSPC Event #1 (Flight 1G): First Of Final Two Flights For Event #1 About To Begin

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #1 | $175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 1 (Blinds 100/100)
Total Flight 1G Entries: N/A

After three days...and six flights, there have been a total of (778) entries in the Event #1 field, with the final pair of starting flights about to get underway.  The prize pool eclipsed the guarantee during last night's play, and enters play today at $105,030.  Sunday's are usually for Day 2, but things are a little different this time around, so it will be interesting to see what these two flights bring today.

Live blogged coverage will begin with a full list of updated chip counts, with focus shifting on notables in the field to continue the early stages of Flight 1G.

Sunday, July 8th: Event #1 Of The FSPC Turning Into A Special One, Final Starting Flights On Today's Schedule

ICYMI: It was clear from the time that registration closed on Flight 1A, that Event #1 ($175 No Limit Hold'em $100,000 GTD) was going to be a special tournament.  Fast forward three days...and six starting flights, and we have an event with a guarantee that's already eclipsed.  Yesterday's pair of flights were the largest to have been played to this point, with Flight 1E attracting (137) entries, and Flight 1F closing with (179) entries.

Flight 1E would conclude with (18) players remaining, led by Marcin Plewinski, who ended up bagging 408,500.  For most of the day, it looked like Edgar Ostor was going to run away with the chip lead bonus, but Marcin showed up strong after the flight's final break.  Plewinski just edged out Michael Marks for the free Event #9 seat, with the multi-flight tournament specialist (Marks) bagging an impressive 386,500.

Flight 1F was also close in the waning moments, but it would be Noe Acosta bagging the chip lead, topping the (21) players that reached the bagging process.  Acosta packed up 373,500 for Monday's Day 2, besting Chad Haas (339,500) by only a small margin.

Yesterday's numbers brought the combined total to (778) entries for Event #1, and helped the prize pool grow to $105,030.  There are still two flights remaining, before all of the players that successfully bagged chips return tomorrow (at 12:00pm).

Tournaments: Today's schedule hosts the final pair of opening flights for Event #1 (of the 2018 Florida State Poker Championship).  These are the final opportunities to join the action, with players that bag chips returning tomorrow, for Day 2 action.  Each of the flights have the same structure, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 20,000 units, and levels during the tournament that last (25) minutes.  Registration for each flight is open through Level 8 (and the break that follows, allowing almost four hours for players to join the action.  The "chip lead bonus" is back, as each of the flight's chip leaders will earn a seat into Event #9, which is an $1,100 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD).

This afternoon's flight will have live blogged coverage, kicking off at 11:00am, and offering updates through the bagging process.  Tonight's flight will have official counts posted at their conclusion, with follower's getting wall-to-wall coverage during tomorrow's Day 2.

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-6:00pm, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
