Tuesday, August 21st: Card Player Poker Tour Continues On, With $1,500 High Hands Also Headlining Tuesday

ICYMI: Monday was one of the busier days you'll  see at the Isle Casino Pompamo Park Poker Room, with four events related to the Card Player Poker Tour.  Things kicked off in the morning 10:00am, with an $80 No Limit Hold'em Satellite Into Event #3 ($300 No Limit Hold'em "Double Green Chip Bounty").  Two of the five satellite winners actually ended up cashing in the event (Susan Krowitz and Gene Hochman), which ended in a six-way deal.

The headlining event of the day came at 2:00pm, when (40) players returned for Day 2 of Event #1 ($360 No Limit Hold'em $200,000 GTD).  Everyone returning was already in the money, with names like Marek Madro, Kevin Chan, Raminder Singh, Eric Brewster, Tom Gity, Daniel Pearlman, Joshua Hillock, and Marc Duquette, all adding major tournament cashes two their resumes.  Alexander Perez started the day off strong, but would be eliminated on the final table bubble (by Chad Kastel), with Erik Nomberg holding a sizable chip lead over the final ten.  Andre Bryan (10th place), Zachary Milchman (9th place), and Michael Kopjanski (8th place), all had dramatic eliminations, with players taking an unscheduled break after Kopjanski's exit.  The tournament supervisor broke down all of the stacks, and gave the players their ICM numbers (by player's request), which were quickly agreed to (after short negotiation).  Nomberg's big chip lead helped him take home first place honors, and the top share of the deal.  Official results from the Event #1 final table chop are listed below:
  1. Erik Nomberg (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $28,510
  2. Matthew Bretzfield (Kings Park, NY) $22,374
  3. David Coughlin (Lighthouse Point, FL) $19,218
  4. Chad Kastel (Hollywood, FL) $14,188

  6. Kharlin Sued (Pembroke Pines, FL) $12,493
  7. Keith Nassetta (Boca Raton, FL) $11,174
Just as Event #1 was reaching it's final table, players were agreeing to a deal in Event #3 ($300 No Limit Hold'em "Double Green Chip Bounty").  The tournament saw registration close with (37) entries, and an official prize pool of $7,585 (not including bounties).  Official results from the event are listed below:

  2. Rudy Vazquez (Port St. Lucie, FL) $1,264

Moment after the Event #1 deal was agreed to, players in Event #4 were doing the same, with the $150 No Limit Hold'em tournament ending in a four-way chop.  The event attracted a total of (22) entries, and an official prize pool of $2,464.  The results from Event #4 are listed below:

Tournaments: It's another busy day at the Isle Casino Pompano Park, beginning at 10:00am, with an $80 No Limit Hold'em "Turbo" Satellite Into Event #5 (5 Seats GTD).  The satellite is structured with starting stacks of 8,000 units, and levels that last (15) minutes.  Registration is open through Level 10, as players battle it out for those $300 No Limit Hold'em 6-Max seats.

The event that those players are hoping to satellite into starts at 2:00pm, as the ever-popular $300 No Limit Hold'em 6-Max gets underway.  The event is structured with 12,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (30) minutes.  Registration is open through Level 8, allowing just over four hours for players to join the tournament's action.

The final tournament of the day is at 6:00pm, as players are sure show up strong for Event #6 of the Card Player Poker Tour, a $130 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD).  The third event of the day is structured with 10,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (20) minutes.  Those looking to enter the tournament late have until the beginning of Level 9 to join the action.

Promotions: Tuesday's promotions start with the every-popular Full House Early Bird, with the first (25) full houses awarded up to $60.  The amount won depends on which game is being played, as 2/2 Limit Hold'em players earn $20 (for each full house while eligible), 2/4 Limit Hold'em players earning $40 (for each full house while eligible), and $60 for those playing: 1/2 No Limit Hold'em, 2/5 No Limit Hold'em, 5/10 No Limit Hold'em, 3/6 Limit Hold'em, and 8/16 O.E.

The standard high hands begin at 10:00am (because off the full house promotion), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes. During that period , the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

At 6:00pm, the promotion transitions, and offers the opportunity for players to earn $1,500 every (30) minutes.  If a player (in no limit hold'em) flops the high hand (and it qualifies as the winning high hand for that period), they will be awarded $1,500.  If the player is at a limit hold'em table (or tournament), and flops the high hand, they will be awarded $750.  The promotion will end at 12:00am.

From 12:00am-3:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
