2018 Card Player Poker Tour (Isle Casino Pompano Park)
Event #1 | $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 27 (Blinds 30,000/60,000/60,000)
Total Event #1 Entries: 759
Event #1 Players Remaining: 7

The seven players to chop up Event #1 of the Card Player Poker Tour: (Top Row) Michael Garavuso, David Coughlin, Matt Bretzfield, Chad Kastel. (Bottom Row) Erik Nomberg, Keith Nassetta, Kharlin Sued.
After the elimination of Michael Kopjanski, the remaining players agreed to an ICM chop, with Erik Nomberg taking home first place honors (and first place money).  Official numbers from the deal are posted below:
  1. Erik Nomberg (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $28,510
  2. Matthew Bretzfield (Kings Park, NY) $22,374
  3. David Coughlin (Lighthouse Point, FL) $19,218
  4. Chad Kastel (Hollywood, FL) $14,188
  5. Michael Garavuso (Glendale, NY) $13,608
  6. Kharlin Sued (Pembroke Pines, FL) $12,493

CPPT Event #1 (Day 2): Michael Kopjanski Eliminated In 8th Place ($5,120) By David Coughlin

2018 Card Player Poker Tour (Isle Casino Pompano Park)
Event #1 | $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 27 (Blinds 30,000/60,000/60,000)
Total Event #1 Entries: 759
Event #1 Players Remaining: 7

Michael Kopjanski (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) never saw David Coughlin open the pot, and was unable to three-bet his pocket queens.

In a unfortunate scenario, Michael Kopjanski (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) was just eliminated in 8th place by David Coughlin.  David opened the pot with a raise to 125,000, with Kopjanski tossing out 150,000...unable to see David's cards (and action).  Michael thought he was the opener, but was then bound to a call, with players folding behind.  The flop then came out 8♠ 55, with the chips getting in after a 3♠ on the turn.  Kopjanski held Q♠ Q♣ against Coughlin's 8♣ 8, and would need to hit a two-outer on the river to survive.

No ladies would arrive on the river, with Kopjanksi left to wonder what would have happened...had he known there was an open (and had three-bet his queens).

CPPT Event #1 (Day 2): Updated Chip Counts At Level's Transition

2018 Card Player Poker Tour (Isle Casino Pompano Park)
Event #1 | $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 27 (Blinds 30,000/60,000/60,000)
Total Event #1 Entries: 759
Event #1 Players Remaining: 8

The level just transitioned moments ago, with players now posting blinds of 30,000/60,000, with a 60,000 ante (posted by the big blind).  Updated chip counts from the level's transition are posted below:
  1. Michael Kopjanski - 1,100,000
  2. Matt Bretzfield - 3,600,000
  3. Michael Garavuso - 1,300,000
  4. Erik Nomberg - 4,600,000
  5. Keith Nassetta - 825,000
  6. Kharlin Sued - 1,000,000
  7. Chad Kastel - 1,400,000
  8. David Coughlin - 1,200,000

CPPT Event #1 (Day 2): It's All Erik Nomberg, As He Knocks Out Zach Milchman In 9th Place ($4,060)

2018 Card Player Poker Tour (Isle Casino Pompano Park)
Event #1 | $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 26 (Blinds 25,000/50,000/50,000)
Total Event #1 Entries: 759
Event #1 Players Remaining: 8

Zachary Milchman (Coconut Creek, FL) said he was "hoping for a long night," as he sat back down from break, but saw those plans cut short by Erik Nomberg.

Action would fold around to Michael Garavuso (in the cutoff), who raised to 140,000, with Erik Nomberg announcing an all-in (having the table covered) next to act.  Zachary Milchman (Coconut Creek, FL) shoved for less (460,000), with Garvuso then releasing his hand:

Milchman: K♣ K
Nomberg: A♣ Q

Runout: Q♣ Q♠ 4 2♠ 8

Garavuso said that he folded an ace (before the runout), so it seemed as if Milchman was in prime position to double his short stack.  The flop would bring trips to Nomberg, who held on through the turn and river, eliminating Zach in 9th place ($4,060).  Erik now has "all of the chips," sitting with a stack that's over 5,000,000.

CPPT Event #1 (Day 2): Updated Final Table Chip Counts From Break

2018 Card Player Poker Tour (Isle Casino Pompano Park)

Players are now on another ten minute break, returning to Level 26, and new blinds of 25,000/50,000/50,000 (1,690,000 chip average).  Updated chip counts from the final table are posted below:
  1. Michael Kopjanski - 1,400,000 (28bb)
  2. Matt Bretzfield - 2,800,000 (56bb)
  3. Michael Garavuso - 1,400,000 (28bb)
  4. Erik Nomberg - 4,000,000 (80bb)

  9. David Coughlin - 1,000,000 (20bb)

CPPT Event #1 (Day 2): Andre Bryan The First To Exit Final Table, Out In 10th Place ($3,420)

2018 Card Player Poker Tour (Isle Casino Pompano Park)
Event #1 | $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 25 (Blinds 20,000/40,000/40,000)
Total Event #1 Entries: 759
Event #1 Players Remaining: 9

Andre Bryan (Pembroke Pines, FL) had been very chatty throughout the day, but was quoted by Chad Kastel, just moments ago.

Andre Bryan (Pembroke Pines, FL) entered the final table as one of the shorter stacks, and just experienced an all but unavoidable situation.  In a blind v. blind scenario, Bryan got his remaining chips all-in with 10♠ 10♣ (big blind), against the A K♠ of Chad Kastel (small blind).  The flop would include an ace (A♠ J♣ 7), with no miracle on the turn or river for Bryan.  Andre earns $3,420 for his tenth place finish, and considering his middle of the pack start to Day 2, is a very nice result.

CPPT Event #1 (Day 2): Alexander Perez Out In 11th Place, Event #1 Reaches It's Final Table

2018 Card Player Poker Tour (Isle Casino Pompano Park)
Event #1 | $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 24 (Blinds 20,000/30,000/30,000)
Total Event #1 Entries: 759
Event #1 Players Remaining: 10

Alexander Perez (Miami, FL) was clearly displeased as he headed to the tournament podium, victim of a drawing hand, against his pocket aces.

Alexander Perez's final hand was just a formality, as he was all-in for less than three big blinds.  The hand prior would be his demise, as he got it all-in on a 6♠ 8 3♣ flop with A♠ A♣, against the 7♠ 9♠ of Chad Kastel.  After getting check raised on the flop by Kastel, Perez three-bet shoved, with Chad calling off for his tournament life.  The turn would bring a 7, giving Chad even more outs, followed by a 10 on the river, completed Kastel's straight.

Perez would be eliminated the next hand, as the clock would be paused, and players would be given their seats at the final table.  The new seating assignments and chip counts will be posted shortly.

CPPT Event #1 (Day 2): Marc Duquette Exits In 12th Place ($3,420), Field Now On The Final Table Bubble

2018 Card Player Poker Tour (Isle Casino Pompano Park)
Event #1 | $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 24 (Blinds 20,000/30,000/30,000)
Total Event #1 Entries: 759
Event #1 Players Remaining: 11

Marc Duquette (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) almost made back-to-back major final tables, but ran into a very hot Alexander Perez, who has almost tripled his stack since dinner.

Just over one month removed from his FSPC $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Championship Event final table finish, Marc Duquette's Event #1 falls short of a back-to-back performance.  Marc shoved for 400,000 from under-the-gun, and would be called by Alexander Perez, who was in the small blind:

Perez: A♠ K♣
Duquette: A♣ 10♣

Runout: A J 6 7♠ Q♣

Both players spiked an ace on the flop, but Marc still needed to see running straight cards, or a ten on the turn or river.  Neither would amount, and Duquette would exit the tournament in 12th place ($3,420), just two spots short of the final table.

CPPT Event #1 (Day 2): 13th-15th Places ($2,905)

2018 Card Player Poker Tour (Isle Casino Pompano Park)

Level 23 (Blinds 15,000/25,000/25,000)
Total Event #1 Entries: 759
Event #1 Players Remaining: 12

Kenneth Barkoff (Dix Hills, NY) hit his ace on the flop, but it was almost meaningless, considering his opponent flopped middle set.

With just over twenty big blinds, Chad Kastel would shove for 570,000 from under-the-gun, with Kenneth Barkoff next to act.  After peering down at his cards, Kenneth announced he was all-in as well (for less), with players folding behind.  "You have me out chipped...good luck," Barkoff would say to Kastel, as the hands found their backs:

Barkoff: A♣ K♣
Kastel: 10♠ 10

Runout: A♠ 10 2♠ 6 Q♣

Kastel spiked a set on the flop to take an almost insurmountable lead, which would not be relinquished through the runout.

Chad Kastel - 1,000,000
Kenneth Barkoff - 13th Place ($2,905)

David Albertson (Coral Springs, FL) was looking to win his second Isle Casino Pompano Park multi in as many months (Event #1 of the FSPC), but fell just short of the final two tables.

There were big hands unfolding at every table, but action would be caught on Table 2, as Erik Nomberg and David Albertson were involved in a pot.  On the turn of a board reading J 4♠ 2 10♠, Albertson would shove for just over pot (David's stack was counted down to 315,000), with Erik deep in the tank.  He would cut out the chips for a call, and while he'd still be left with well over the chip average, Nomberg didn't see pleased with the spot.  Erik eventually made the call, with Alberston in rough shape:

Albertson: 5♣ 5
Nomberg: A J♣

River: 10

"Don't do it to me," Nomberg said to the dealer, just moments before the river card hit the felt.  With Albertson's elimination, the tournament staff would pause the clock, and the final eighteen players would be given new seating assignments (which will be posted shortly).

CPPT Event #1 (Day 2): Daniel Pearlman Eliminated In 21st Place ($1,990), As Field Approaches First Redraw

2018 Card Player Poker Tour (Isle Casino Pompano Park)
Event #1 | $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 22 (Blinds 10,000/20,000/20,000)
Total Event #1 Entries: 759
Event #1 Players Remaining: 20

Daniel Pearlman (Hollywood, FL) had allowed himself to get down to 50,000 (just over two big blinds), and after Alexander Perez shoved from under the gun (for 215,000), Daniel put his tiny stack in.  The players behind all folded, and the card would find their backs:

Pearlman: A J
Perez: 4 4♣

Runout: K 5310 8

Daniel would whiff the flop, but ended picking up some extra outs on the turn, which would never amount.  Pearlman collects $1,990 for his 21st place finish, while the field now sits just two eliminations from the first redraw of the day.

Alexander Perez - 320,000 (16bb)
Daniel Pearlman - 21st Place ($1,990)

Total Event #1 Entries: 759
Event #1 Players Remaining: 22

Thomas Puccio (Miami Beach, FL) couldn't even watch the runout against Duvdivani, even though it was only a twenty big blind pot.

Joshua Duvdivani (Sunrise, FL) had been super short since returning from the day's first break, and while he was able to score a double through Erik Nomberg, it only helped him chip back up to ten big blinds.  Joshua would be all-in just moments ago, shoving over an open from Thomas Puccio.  After making the call, Puccio would see the dominating position he was in, holding J J♣ against Joshua's A♠ J♠.  The board would run out 9♣ 3 3♣ 8♣ 8, with Puccio looking away as each street was placed down on the table.

Joshua would be eliminated in 23rd place after bricking the runout ($1,625), while Thomas Puccio chipped up to 1,200,000.  A ninth place finish (or better) would be Thomas's largest tournament cash, with his career earning eclipsed if he finishes fifth place or better.

Thomas Puccio - 1,200,000 (75bb)
Joshua Duvdivani - 23rd Place ($1,625)

David Albertson (Coral Springs, FL) didn't mind the verbal abuse after beating Michael Newman out of a pot, as he chipped up to 1,200,000.

We weren't able to catch the full action, but approaching Table 3, Michael Newman would be sending 400,000 chips the way of David Alberston.  The board read 5 7♠ 9♣ 4 8, with both of the players hands exposed on the table.  Albertson held 6♠ 8♣, having flopped the straight, against Newman's 5♣ 5 (having flopped middle set).  The lost pot would see Newman dip down to 180,000 (just over ten big blinds), while Albertson eclipsed the million-chip mark (1,200,000).

"Put that on the blog...he limped from early position with six-eight off," Newman said in frustration, as the table confirmed that it was a six-way limped pot.  Marc Duquette then reminded Newman that he limped next to act with those pocket fives, which set Michael off.  "All the pros in this $360, they all come out to play."

David Albertson - 1,200,000 (75bb)
Michael Newman - 180,000 (11bb)

Players are currently on their first break of the day, and will be returning to Level 20, with new blinds of 6,000/12,000/12,000 (562,000 chip average).  Kharlin Sued still sits atop the leaderboard, but he does have company in the "millionaires club," as Michael Garavuso headed to break with 1,100,000.  Listed below are some updated counts from the three remaining tables in the field:

Kharlin Sued - 1,600,000 (133bb)

Level 19 (Blinds 5,000/10,000/10,ooo)
Total Event #1 Entries: 759
Event #1 Players Remaining: 29

Kharlin Sued (Pembroke Pines, FL) came into Day 2 with the sixth largest stack, but has more than doubled that amount after just ninety-minutes of play.

It only took an hour for the first player to eclipse the million chip mark, as Kharlin Sued (Pembroke Pines, FL) assumes the overall chip lead.  Sued's tournament resume started in the 2016 (with one result), with more than a year between his next cash.  That second cash came in February of this year, and has since been followed by ten recorded results.  His best tournament score came just last week, when he finished 22nd in the $2,650 No Limit Hold'em (Event #20) during the SHRPO ($8,443).  Sued stands as somewhat of a "wild card," but with the way he's been running to start the day, this may be the making of his headlining score.

Kharlin Sued - 1,400,000 (140bb)

CPPT Event #1 (Day 2): Alexander Perez Eliminates Marek Madro, After Bryan Makes Surprising Fold

2018 Card Player Poker Tour (Isle Casino Pompano Park)
Event #1 | $360 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 18 (Blinds 4,000/8,000/8,ooo)
Total Event #1 Entries: 759
Event #1 Players Remaining: 36

Alexander Perez just won a sizable pot, but felt as if he got unlucky in the hand, with Andre Bryan folding pocket kings pre-flop (and Perez spiking an ace that would have knocked out two players).

At Table 1, Alexander Perez would limp under the gun, with Andre Bryan raising to 40,000, after one fold.  Players behind released their hands, with action stopping on Marek Madro, who was in the small blind.  Marek looked around the table to survey the stacks, as Perez had over 400,000 behind, and Bryan just under that amount.

"You're one of those guys, staring people down," Bryan said aloud, hoping to maybe induce some action.  Marek would reply with an all-in shove for 210,000, with the big blind folding his hand.  With action then back on Perez, he would announce himself all-in as well, having both players covered.  "Really...really man," Bryan questioned Perez, as he looked back at his hand.  "I guess I'm going to fold this hand," Andre said, as he tossed K K♣ into the muck.  The hands were then tabled, with Madro flipping for his tournament life:

Madro: J♠ J
Perez: A♣ K♠

Runout: 8♠ 5 4♣ A 6♠

Madro was able to fade the flop, but couldn't escape the ace on the turn, as Alexander grabbed a seemingly unsurmountable lead.  The river would be Marek's final street, as he'd exit the tournament in 39th place ($990).

Alexander Perez - 630,000 (78bb)
