Level 14 (Blinds 1,200/2,400/300)
Total Flight A Entries: 71
Flight A Players Remaining: 17

Frederico Dabus (Doral, FL)
Nothing has been made official, but it looks as if Frederico Dabus will be bagging the flight's chip lead with approximately 256,000.  The (17) players left at flight's end will finish bagging up their betting units, and the official chip counts will be posted afterwards.

The 3:00pm (Flight B) has one more level of open registration, and then the race to find a bag begins again.  At 7:00pm, the final flight of the day (Flight C) will begin, and will run until just after 2:30am.

Event 9 (Flight A): Dabus Running Away With Things

Event 9 ($350 No Limit Hold'em $300,000 Guarantee)
Level 13 (Blinds 1,000/2,000/300)
Total Flight A Entries: 71
Flight A Players Remaining: 19

Mukul Pahuja was just eliminated from Flight A, at the hands of the runaway chipleader Frederico Dabus.  Dabus now sits with over 250,000, and is over 100,000 clear of his nearest competitor.  While Dabus was more than likely to be attending the Isle Poker Open Main Event on his own dime, it's likely he'll be freerolling after the conclusion of this flight.  There is (45) minutes of play remaining, at which time the remaining players will bag up their for Day 2 on Sunday.  Once all of the bags are packed and numbers are verified, we will post the official end of flight chip counts.

Event 9 (Flight A): Focusing On The Leaders

Event 9 ($350 No Limit Hold'em $300,000 Guarantee)
Level 12 (Blinds 800/1,600/200)
Total Flight A Entries: 71
Flight A Players Remaining: 21

Frederico Dabus (Doral, FL)

Players are about to head on their final break of the night, and when they return, they will be playing Level 13 and posting blinds of 1,000/2,000/300.  It's about that time that we can start looking at the race for the "chiplead bonus," currently headed by Frederico Dabus (Doral, FL) with just over 200,000.  Mukul Pahuja (Coconut Creek, FL) was a last minute entry into this flight, and has managed to increase his starting stack to 68,000.

Frederico Dabus - 200,000
Andrew Blake - 90,000
Julio Sanchez - 85,000
Mukul Pahuja - 68,000
Zack Mullinex - 65,000
Kenneth Bruno - 36,000
Matt Wolfson - 32,000

Event 9 (Flight A): Wolfson's Working On More Wedding Money

Event 9 ($350 No Limit Hold'em $300,000 Guarantee)
Level 11 (Blinds 600/1,200/200)
Total Flight A Entries: 71
Flight A Players Remaining: 28

Matt Wolfson (Delray Beach, FL) had been treading water for most of this opening flight, but he just tripled up to grab new life.  We caught up to the action just as Wolfson and an unknown player were calling a 3,000 three-bet from the button.  The three players would watch as the dealer fanned out a flop of K 3♣ 9, with Wolfson announcing himself all-in (first to act).  The all-in amount of 11,800 was called by Player X, and with action to Player Y, he would also announce himself all-in (having both players covered).  The call was made, and we would see the three hands exposed, with two players at risk:

Flop: K 3♣ 9

Wolfson: K♠ J♣
Player X: K♣ 10♠
Player Y: A 10

Turn: J
River: J♠

While the turn gave Wolfson two pair, it also brought more outs to both of his opponents.  The river would bring another jack though, giving Wolfson a full house, and securing the triple up.  Matt now has over 55,000, and is focused on finding a bag.

ICYMI: The Wheel's Showering Players With Money

Actual Wheel Not Pictured
The wheel was mentioned earlier in the day, as we spoke about the promotion's popularity, and the potential for some big money wins.  Here are the "wheel results" for the day (up to the minute):

12:00-12:30pm: $1,000 winner
12:30-1:00pm: $450 winner
1:00-1:30pm: $725 winner
1:30-2:00pm: $400 winner
2:00-2:30pm: $525 winner
2:30-3:00pm: $425 winner
3:00-3:30pm: $525 winner
3:30-4:00pm: $550 winner

That's over $4,500 given away in just over four hours.  The "wheel" promotion will be running for the next seven hours (until 11:00pm).

Event 9 (Flight B): No Rest For The Weary

Event 9 ($350 No Limit Hold'em $300,000 Guarantee)
Level 2 (Blinds 50/100)
Total Flight A Entries: 19

Eric Mutschler (Tarpon Springs, FL)

One of the pluses to tournament poker, especially multi-flight events like this, is the scheduling.  The staggered starting times for the flights allows for those who are up early to play the 11:00am, later sleepers can arrive for the 3:00pm start, and those who work day jobs can come in for the 6:00pm flight.  Two players that needed some rest coming into the day were Eric Mutschler and Raminder Singh, the winner and runner up of Event 6.  The two ended up adjusting the top two prizes (to make things a little flatter), and played it out for the $2,000 difference.

Both players took their seats in this (B) flight just moments ago, and top the list of notables in the field, which also includes Elliot Zaydman.

Event 9 (Flight A): Registration Window Closing, Flight B Starting Up

Event 9 ($350 No Limit Hold'em $300,000 Guarantee)
Level 8 (Blinds 300/600/75)
Total Day 1A Entries: 68

With the amount of potential entries in this event, we should see the reappearance of the plaques at some point in the later stages of the tournament.

With only (15) minutes remaining in registration for Flight A, a flurry of players have headed to the podium to jump in as a "late entry."  For those players that would rather start the day with (400) big blinds, opposed to just over (30), Flight B of Event 9 gets started in just a few minutes (3:00pm).

The same rules apply for Flight B, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 20,000.  The levels will last (30) minutes for the entire flight, and will transition to (40) minutes at the resumption of Day 2.  It looks as if things are off to a slow start for Flight B, but once the tournament area begins to fill up, a list of notables in the field will be posted.

ICYMI: The "Winning Wheel" Lives Up To It's Name

Actual Wheel Not Pictured
ICYMI would usually stand for "In Case You Missed It," but for the moment, we are using it as "In Case Your'e Missing It"!  It's Wednesday, which means that the high hand winner from each half-hour (12:00pm-11:00pm) earns the opportunity to "spin the wheel."

Of the promotions run throughout the week, this is without a doubt the most popular...and most profitable.  Our first winner of the day walked away with $1,000, and we will update you throughout the day of future prizes won.

12:00-12:30pm: $1,000 winner
12:30-1:00pm: $450 winner

ICYMI: "Slum Donkey Poker" Returns, And Chops Event 6

Event 6 ($130 No Limit Hold'em)
$60,000 Guarantee
Total Entries: 479

Raminder Singh (Delray Beach, FL)

There were three events running simultaneously yesterday afternoon, one of which was Day 2 of Event 6 ($130 No Limit Hold'em - $60,000 Guarantee).  (52) players returned in hopes of grabbing their share of the $60,000 prize pool, and if you blinked...you may have missed it (well leading up to the final table at least).  The players reached the money within an hour of play, and a host of notables were then in contention for the trophy and $14,985 first place prize.

The names were dropping quickly though from the field, as we saw the likes of Vito Polera (29th place), Andrew Touchette (19th place), and David Albertson (14th place) fall short of the final table.  The final table was headlined by Raminder Singh (Delray Beach, FL), Eric Mutschler (Tarpon Springs, FL), and Adel Jo (Miami, FL), and they happened to finish one-two-three respectively.  Raminder and Eric ended up chopping when they reached heads-up play, with Singh declared the trophy winner.  The $12,665 that Singh earned helped him eclipse the career number of $500,000, and also gave him another opportunity to plug "Slum Donkey Poker."  The official results from the event will be posted shortly.

Event 9 (Flight A): Always The "Ladies Champ"

Event 9 ($350 No Limit Hold'em $300,000 Guarantee)
Level 4 (Blinds 100/200)
Total Day 1A Entries: 40

Ellen Lambeth (Charlotte, NC) and Marsha Wolak (Pompano Beach, FL)

We've seen a lot of success from the ladies this series, and with Marsha Wolak (Pompano Beach, FL) in the field, we could see more.  Marsha is a Florida-based poker pro with over $597,000 in career tournament earnings.  Marsha's resume got it's start in 2010, but it didn't get kickstarted until the 2011 World Series Of Poker.  Wolak would win her first (and only) WSOP bracelet, taking down the $1,000 No Limit Hold'em Ladies Event ($192,344).  It's been a steady rise for Wolak since then, accruing numerous five-figure scores, including a $70,000 cash just three weeks ago during the $2,500 NLH Championship Event at Coconut Creek (4th place).

Marsha's neighbor at the table is also a formidable tournament player, as Ellen Lambeth (Charlotte, NC) brings a resume boasting over $107,000 in career earnings to the felt.  Lambeth's cashes have been primarily in WSOP Circuit events, with her highlighting score coming during last year's WSOPC Main at Palm Beach Kennel Club (6th place - $25,095).  The two ladies were all smiles for the camera, but bring a very serious side to the table when the photo shutters aren't around.

Event 9 (Flight A): Wolfson Looking For More "Wedding Money"

Event 9 ($350 No Limit Hold'em $300,000 Guarantee)
Level 3 (Blinds 75/150)
Total Day 1A Entries: 36

Matthew Wolfson (Delray Beach, FL)

Matthew Wolfson (Delray Beach, FL) earned himself the nickname "The Conductor" this past Monday night, as he orchestrated a final table chop with ten players remaining.  If pay was to continue, there is no chance that the tournament would have finished by "closing time," and players would then need to return Monday to finish things out.

Wolfson worked out the chop exactly how you'd like to see it, without any pressure put on certain players/stacks, and even including a concession of his own.  The $17,000 he received from the chop is his largest tournament score to date, and comes at a perfect time for Wolfson, with a wedding around the corner.  So what does a man do who just earned himself a good chunk of wedding money?  He looks to grab some more, as Wolfson headlines this group of familiar faces in the field:

Zack Mullinex
Linda Lipkins
Valeria Ligeiro
Thomas Gari
Larry Douglas Sr.
Claude Ferland
Kenneth  Bruno
Ellen Lambeth

Event 9 (Flight A): Early Birds Out In Full Force

Event 9 ($350 No Limit Hold'em $300,000 Guarantee)
Level 2 (Blinds 50/100)
Total Day 1A Entries: 27

This afternoon's flight is seeing an "intimate" start, but that doesn't mean that some of the Isle Poker notables aren't already seated:

Francis Margaglione (Davie, FL) gave us one of our storylines last Sunday during Event 5, buying into Day 2 just before the cards got in the air (with the 25,000 starting stack), and just missing out on the tournament's final table.  Margaglione doubled his stack just moments into Day 2 play, and from there, it was a steady trend upwards.  Francis adds the $2,332 to his tournament resume, bringing the total to $123,582.

Frederico Dabus (Doral, FL) is a player to watch in any event he enters here, seemingly amassing a top stack each tournament he's played this series.  He has a cash from Event 1 earlier in the month (40th place - $430), and while he started Day 2 of Event with a top (20) stack, he was not able to find traction at any point throughout the day.  Dabus has seven WSOP cashes to his name, including one final table last year ($1,000 No Limit Hold'em - 8th place $38,676).

Event 9 (Flight A): The Guarantees Rise As Event 9 Kicks Off

Event 9 ($350 No Limit Hold'em $300,000 Guarantee)
Level 1 (Blinds 25/50)
Total Day 1A Entries: N/A

The multi-flight madness kicks off at 11:00am, as the cards get in the air for Flight A of Event 9. The $350 buy-in event has a total of twelve flights over the next four days, and has players returning on Sunday to finish off the tournament.

Players will be sitting down to starting stacks of 20,000, and playing (30) minute levels. Those levels will then transition to (40) minutes on Day 2, and will continue that way until the conclusion of the event.

The chip leader from each of the (12) flights will earn themselves entry into the $1,500 Isle Poker Open Main Event, which takes place next weekend. Once the cards are in the air and players fills up the tournament area, we will being coverage of today's action. We will also update you on what took place over the past few days, including a "Slum Donkey Poker" reappearance.
