Wednesday, July 17th: Registration Still Open For Event #1 Of The FSPC, With Day 2 Beginning At 12:00PM (And Still $20,000 Short Of The Guarantee)
ICYMI: Yesterday's scheduled was headlined by the second starting day of Event #1 ($1,1000 No
Limit Hold'em $100,000 GTD), which was the final opportunity for players to bag chips for today's Day 2. With registration open throughout the entire flight, the number wouldn't be made official until the bagging process, with (12) players reaching that point (from a total of 43 entries). We already are beginning to see well-known tournament players returning from the WSOP, with Florida tournament veteran Ido Ashkenazi (252,000) bagging the Day 1B chip lead. Official chip counts from Day 1B are listed below:
Ido Ashkenazi - 252,000
Paul Smerdon - 153,500
Zachary Mullennix - 129,000
Ory Hen - 112,500
Harjinder Chawla - 110,000
TH Shulman - 102,000
Keith Nassetta - 98,000
Zachary Galati - 92,500
Marc Sacheli - 83,000
George Belianin - 61,000
Brandon Noe - 49,500
Sean Shah - 48,000
With both starting flights in the book, the current prize pool sits at $77,815, which is over $20,000 short of the posted guarantee. That number is sure to change (because of Day 2 buy-ins), but it will be interesting to see if that posted number is reached (prior to the first hand being dealt).
Tournaments: With the potential for an overlay, players are sure to take advantage of the 10:00am $250 No Limit Hold'em "Hyper Turbo" Satellite into Event #1.
At 1:00pm, Day 2 of the Florida State Poker Championships Event #1 will be getting underway, which will signify the close of registration. While players can still buy in with the 30,000 unit starting stack, there will be more equity to those stacks, and levels transition to (40) minutes for the rest of the tournament.
At 3:00pm, there is an $80 No Limit Hold'em Step Satellite, which guarantees (3) seats into the $340 NLH FSPC Main Event Satellite (with runs on July 23rd, at 11:00am).
The days' tournament schedule wraps up at 6:00pm, with a $175 No Limit Hold'em Satellite into the FSPC Main Event ($1,500 No Limit Hold'em $300,000 GTD), that carries a (3) seat guarantee.
Promotions: The daily promotions saw a small "makeover" yesterday, and will run with the same schedule each day, for the rest of the month of July. Things begin with the "Full House Promo," which will open the doors seven day a week!!! The proceedings begin once the doors of the poker room open, with the first (25) full houses made, earning a $50 prize. Each jackpot eligible cash game is included in the promotion, with two rules to keep in mind, when thinking about winning the $50. In order to be eligible, the full house must be made using two cards, and must be the winning hand.
