Pedro Palacio (Coconut Creek, FL) watched his entire tournament turn on the fate of a river card, as he five-bet shoved pocket tens, and was called by Andre Rakusa, who was holding QJ.  The flop and turn would run out eight-high, but a jack on the river brought a big yell from Andre in celebration.  Palacio was all-in four hands later for just over (13) big blinds, and was eliminated at the hands of Andre.

Pedro Palacio just won the largest pot of the tournament, and assumed the final table chip lead, all with the 2-7 off.  After Avery Bass and David Ward limped, Palacio completed his small blind, and Rakusa checked his option in the big.  The dealer fanned out a flop of 2♠ 3♣ 7, and Palacio led out for 350,000.  Bass would be the only player to call, and Palacio once again fired after the turn brought the J♠, this time for 975,000.  Bass would elect to raise to 3,000,000, only to hear Palacia announce himself all-in.  Bass tossed a chip forward, signifying a call, and we would have a 9,000,000 pot.  Palacio turned over 2 7, having flopped two pair, and was up against the Q J of Bass.  The river would brick out for Bass, and he'd send over close 70% of his chips Pedro's way.

Perdo Palacio - 9,400,000
Avery Bass - 1,400,000

Chip Average: 3,700,000

Bernard Muhire (Pompano Beach, FL) just earned his third largest career cash after being eliminated in 7th place from the final table.  Muhire is surprisingly the only player from the top (20) to start the day, to reach the final table.  The $11,025 is Bernard's second five-figure score os the calendar year.

Event 9 (Day 2): 8th Place - Raik ($8,190)

Event 9 ($300 No Limit Hold'em $300,000 Guarantee)
Level 30 (Blinds 50,000/100,000/10,000)
Total Entries: 1110
Players Remaining: 7
Chip Average: 3,100,000

We've now see both short stacks from break bust in the first (25) minutes of the level, as Brian Raik (Coral Springs, FL) was just eliminated in 8th place ($8,190).  Raik came into the day just over chip average, and was another player to climb steadily up the leaderboard without the assistant of one notable large pot.  This finish earns him his second largest tournament cash in his career.

Event 9 (Day 2): 9th Place - Mahabee ($5,780)

Event 9 ($300 No Limit Hold'em $300,000 Guarantee)
Level 30 (Blinds 50,000/100,000/10,000)
Total Entries: 1110
Players Remaining: 8
Chip Average: 2,800,000

Nicholas Mahabee (Miami, FL) When players returned from the most recent break, Nicholas Mahabee (Miami, FL) was sitting down to just under five big blinds.  Nicholas did double through Andre Rakusa just a few hands into the level, but it would be Rakusa that would eliminate Mahabee just moments after.  This concludes another deep run for Nicholas, who chopped Event 1 of the SHRPO the past August, earning himself over $66,000.
