Friday, May 5th: Freedman Tops "Thursday $10k" Chop, Lots Of Action To Start The Weekend

ICYMI: There were two tournaments on yesterday's schedule, the first of which began at 11:00am ($80 No Limit Hold'em w/ $10 Bounties $1,500 GTD).  A total of (23) entries made up the $1,500 prize pool ($1,270 prize pool/$230 bounty pool), and after the players "altered" the prize pool a bit, five spots ended up getting paid.

  1. Shaun Casey (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $370
  2. Michael Brinson (Boynton Beach, FL) $347
  3. Jerome Price (Boca Raton, FL) $221
  4. David Upton (Davie, FL) $176
  5. Danny Blackburn (Deerfield Beach, FL) $156
The "Thursday $10k" continues to steam along, as another large field made up the prize pool of $10,000 (275 entries).  A min-cash in the tournament would yield $71 for players, with $2,241 schedule to go to the eventual winner of the event.  There would be (35) spots getting paid in the event, with many familiar names notching another Isle Poker cash on their resume.  Some notables to cash included Waldermar Wasilewski (32nd Place - $71), Yves Fequiere (25th Place - $71), Robert Perniola (19th Place - $110), Michael Weinberg (13th Place - $161), and Christina Cadbury-Feldman (11th Place - $188).

The final table was reached shortly after 12:00am, and after four eliminations, the remaining six players agreed to a deal that would end the tournament.  Richard Freedman (Weston, FL) was the "declared winner," earning $1,574 for his finish.  The cash would bring his career earnings across the $75,000 mark, and would be his first recorded tournament cash since September of last year.  Posted below are the results from the tournament's final table:
  1. Richard Freedman (Weston, FL) $1,574
  2. Andrew Mizerak (Mays Landing, NJ) $1,076
  3. Maury Halperin (Lauderdale By The Sea, FL) $1,017
  4. Perry Werbel (Coral Springs, FL) $962
  5. Rudy Vazquez (Port St. Lucie, FL) $922
  6. Rollin Hernandez (Lake Worth, FL) $783
  7. Rafael Rodriguez (Columbia) $335
  8. James Powers (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $280
  9. Hector Villavicencio (Miami, FL) $224
  10. Hoa Lang (West Palm Beach, FL) $188

Tournaments: There is one tournament on the schedule to start the weekend, which begins at 6:00pm ($150 No Limit Hold'em $10,000 GTD).  Players in the event sit down to starting stacks of 20,000 units, and will be playing levels of (25) minutes throughout.  Being that it is Friday, the poker room is open (24) hours, meaning players will not be "up against it" to finish the event before a closing time.  This tournament was not run last weekend, as the "April $100,000 GTD" was running, and the "daily tournament schedule" was cancelled.

Promotions: Things start off "quickly" this afternoon, with the "Turbo High Hands" running from 9:00am-12:00pm.  During that window, $100 will be awarded every (10) minutes to the qualifying high hand (rollovers do apply).  The promotion will then transition to $250 every (20) minutes (rollovers do apply), from 12:00pm-4:00pm...laddering up one more time to $500 every (20) minutes (rollovers apply), from 4:00pm-12:00am.

- Players will begin with a 20,000 starting stack
- Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
- Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
