Tuesday, March 29th: Anthony Casas Wins Final Table Finish Outright, With Two Tournament Remaining In The Month!!!

ICYMI: Monday's $250 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) has been one of the most popular tournaments on the recurring schedule, so an off night is not going to draw much attention (especially with a large series running at the same time).  Last night's tournament saw registration close with a total of (73) entries, which was short of the number needed to reach the guarantee.  That meant that the official prize pool would be $20,000, and spread across the spots at the final table.  Action played down to an outright winner, with Anthony Casas (Miami, FL) taking home first place money ($8,000).  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:
  1. Anthony Casas (Miami, FL) $8,000
  2. Kevin Knight (Barrington, NH) $3,600
  3. Ian Cohen (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $2,000
  4. Peter Cleven (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,400
  5. Robert Kessler (Parkland, FL) $1,400
  6. Ilan Hadida (Boca Raton, FL) $1,000
  7. Anderson Patino (Miami, FL) $1,000
  8. Steve Smith (West Palm Beach, FL) $800
  9. James Majuste (Lauderdale Lakes, FL) $800

Tournaments: The $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) tournament had a very successful first run, and is now a member of the "recurring" tournament family.  The tournament is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, and has (20) minute levels throughout.  Registration is open through Level 8, and closes once the first hand of Level 9 is dealt (there is a short break between the two).

Promotions: From 10:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

6:00pm: $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD)
  • Players start with 15,000 in tournament chips

Monday, March 28th: Only Three Tournaments Remain, But The Leaderboard Race Is Still Up For Grabs!!

ICYMI: For the first time in a while, Sunday's $400 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) tournament did not reach the numbers needs to reach the posted guarantee.  Registration for the event closed with a total of (49) entries, meaning the official prize pool would be right on the posted number ($20,000).  That number was supposed to be spread across the top seven spots, with action playing down to a four-handed final table.  A deal was agreed to, which saw Shamica Lamar take home first place money.  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:
  1. Shamica Lamar (Wellington, FL) $4,800
  2. Luis Dominguez (Miami, FL) $4,148
  3. David Steinberg (Coconut Creek, FL) $3,750
  4. Robert Souaid (Gulf Stream, FL) $3,702
  5. Courtney Rowe (West Palm Beach, FL) $1,500
  6. Robert Kessler (Parkland, FL) $1,200
  7. Jorge Vaca (Tamarac, FL) $900
Tournaments: At 5:00pm this evening, the $250 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) "Final Table Finish" returns, with a little wrinkle.  This particular tournament had such a good structure, that the final table action ran into the closing time of the poker room (players are then faced with chopping, or bagging for a Day 2).  To keep that from occurring, there will be some slight changes moving forward.

The event will be structured with 25,000 chip starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and open registration through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  The new format-wrinkle comes into play when discussing payouts, as the tournament will pay out just the final table, regardless of how many entries.  Exact payout percentages are as follows (final tables are now nine-handed):
  1. 40%
  2. 18%
  3. 10%
  4. 7%
  5. 7%
  6. 6%
  7. 6%
  8. 3%
  9. 3%
Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

In addition to the high hands, there is a "bonus" promotion in place, which offers $1,000 to the highest hand from the 9:00am-12:00pm time period.  If a player makes a straight flush in the 9:00am-9:30am qualifying period, and that is the best qualifying high hand from 9:00am-12:00pm, they will earn an extra $1,000 (in addition to the $300 they were awarded for the half-hour time period).

5:00pm: $250 No Limit Hold'em "Final Table Finish" ($10,000 GTD)
  • Players start with 25,000 in tournament chips
  • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
  • Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
  • Levels will last (20) minutes

Sunday, March 27th: Parada Winning March's Player Of The Month Seems Like A Formality, With Less Than A Handful Of Tournaments Remaining

ICYMI: With only a few tournaments remaining in the month, players showed out strong for last night's $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD).  By the time registration closed for the evening, the tournament clock would show (80) entries, which equated to an official prize pool of $8,000.  A total of ten players were scheduled to reach the money, with action playing down to a four-handed final table.  The remaining players then agreed to a deal, with Diana Prkacin taking home first place money.  Danilo Parada was also part of the deal, helping to distance himself from the rest of the players on the leaderboard.  Official results are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:

  2. Serkan Kaygusuz (Fairfax, VA) $1,424

With the way tournaments have been at the Isle Casino Pompano Park, it should come as not surprise, if this event surpasses all expectations.  Those looking to get updates on numbers, can follow the action on the Bravo Poker Live app.  All results from this afternoon's action will be recapped tomorrow on the blog.

  3. 10%

ICYMI: Friday's $160 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) got underway at 6:00pm, and by the time registration closed, the tournament clock would show (45) entries.  Those players remaining (at that time of registration close) were focused on earning a piece of the $5,490 prize pool, of which six players were scheduled.  Action played down to a four-handed final table, with a chop then agreed upon.  Tyler Gray (Bradenton, FL) took home first place money, with the official results listed below (along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard):
  1. Tyler Gray (Bradenton, FL) $1,359
  2. Rodolfo (Margate, FL) $1,313
  3. Roberto Alvarado (Pompano Beach, FL) $1,253
  4. Kenneth Wolf (Erie, IL) $797
  5. Jonathan Gordon (Coral Springs, FL) $439
  6. Celso Leroy (Delray Beach, FL) $329

Tournaments: Saturday's 6:00pm tournament is one of the most popular on the schedule, as it offers an incredibly affordable buy-in, that always sees some great returns.  The $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) event has consistently crushing the posted guarantee, as the prize pool reaches five-figures on a weekly basis.

The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 12,000 chips, and levels that last (20) minutes throughout the event. Registration is open through Level 8, allowing for almost three hours of play, prior to the window closing for the night.

6:00pm: $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD)

  • Players start with 12,000 in tournament chips
  • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
  • Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
  • Levels will last (20) minutes

Friday, March 18th: Danilo Parada Continues To Distance Himself From The Field, As We Enter Another Weekend Of Poker Action
