Friday, December 27th: Final Weekend Of 2019 Is A Busy One, As $80 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) Wraps Up Opening Flight Action, And $500 High Hands Take Center Stage!!

ICYMI: At 11:00am yesterday afternoon, players began arriving for Flight 1A of the $80 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD).  If there was any questions about how this tournament would do, they were answered at the end of Flight 1A registration, as the tournament clock showed (67) entries.  It was a very strong number, and with the remaining three flights expected to grow in size, the guarantee doesn't seem to be in jeopardy.  At the end of play, a total of (9) players remained, led by Jennifer Guner (212,000).  A full list of Flight 1A chip counts are listed below:

Jennifer Guner - 212,000
James Newcomb - 174,000
Norman Boothe - 120,000
Marc Freund - 120,000
Markus Petteway - 104,000
Kevin Montagna - 96,000
Donald Campbell - 92,000
Robyn Handler - 83,000
Michael Boykin - 56,000

The 6:00pm time slot was filled by Flight 1B of the tournament, which would end up attractring a total of (95) entries.  The flight's action would pause with 19:00 minutes remaiing in Level 16, as the 10% mark was reached (9 players remained).  The bagging process began with Andre Debose (388,000) as the chip leader, with the official Flight 1B chip counts listed below:

Andre Debose - 388,000
Hector Pacheco - 292,000
Michael Corbett - 181,000
Julie Bindelglass - 151,000
Leroy Jones - 140,000
Steve Slon - 114,000
Irwin Block - 100,000
Roman Kornev - 89,000
Fabrice Mace - 66,000

At the midway point of the $80 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) registration period (two of four flights completed), there has been a combined total of (162) entries.  That has us right on pace to cruise past the guarantee, with another (172) entries needed to reach that number.  The final pair of flights are on today's schedule, and expect to draw even larger numbers than yesterday.

Tournaments: Today continues the $80 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD), which has it's final pair of starting flights.  There is an afternoon (Flight 1C at 11:00am) and evening (Flight 1D at 6:00pm) flight to choose from.  The tournament is structured with 16,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and has registration open through Level 8.  As mentioned above, any players that succesfully bag chips in one of the starting flights, will return for Day 2 on Saturday (12:00pm).

Promotions: With the calendar changing over to December, there are some changes in promotions to take note of.  Every day, from 9:00am through 12:00pm, the high hands will be $100 every (10) minutes.  The "turbo" high hands will have rollovers, meaning we will see some healthy payouts over the course of the three hour period.  Qualifying high hands can be made using one or two cards, and will receive the same $100 payout (or whatever the rollover amount is for the period).

The "standard" high hands will be awarding $300 every (30) minutes (from 12:00pm-6:00pm).  Every jackpot game is eligible for the same amount, with the full $150 being rewarded to those that use one card to make the high hand.  For those players in tournaments, high hands are worth $100.

At 6:00pm, the high hands grow even larger, as $500 will be awarded every (30) minutes.  The winning high hands made with one card (during the 6:00pm-midnight period) will be awarded $250.

From 12:00am-9:00am, the high hand will be awarded $50 every (30) minutes.
