Last night's evening event was a "special" $120 No Limit Hold'em ($15,000 GTD), which attracted a field that well surpassed the guarantee (178 entries). A total of (23) spots would reach the money in the tournament, with a min-cash taking home $152, and first place walking away with $4,155. There were a handful of Isle Poker tournament notables to cash (short of the final table), including Irwin Block (12th place), Linzell Borders (16th place), Thomas Millward (19th place), and Renata Cela (23rd place). There was a lot of money still to be decided at the final table, and just like the tournament earlier in the day, the deal-making would be left for another day. Seasoned tournament players like Diane Linke, Robert Transue, and Russell Stampler, would all notch final table scores on their resumes...but the night would be all about Barton Taylor. Taylor's (Hollywood, FL) best tournament cash coming into the day was $4,026, but things would change after taking home the $4,155 first place prize.
- Barton Taylor (Hollywood, FL) $4,155
- William More (Boynton Beach, FL) $2,783
- Diane Linke (Delray Beach, FL) $1,642
- Kenneth Amaez (Boca Raton, FL) $999
- Fedner Oralien (Lauderdale Lakes, FL) $771
- Robert Transue (N. Lauderhill, FL) $639
- Russell Stampler (Weston, FL) $545
- Gary Fitzgerald (Miami, FL) $479
- John Sailey (Lighthouse Point, FL) $415
- Jared Carter (Pompano Beach, FL) $352
Tournaments: After a little "break" on Father's Day, the Sunday tournament schedule sees two tournaments on the slate once again. The action begins at 12:00pm, with a $150 No Limit Hold'em event, that carries with it a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool. The structure is very player-friendly, with starting stacks of 20,000 units, and levels that are (25) minutes in length throughout. Those players that bust just short of the money have a "second chance" at 6:00pm, as the cards get in the air for the third installment of the "Hard Stop, ICM Chop" event. It's a tournament just like any other on the schedule, with the exception of one small wrinkle...the night will end at a specified point. Those entering the tournament can be sure that the action will be done no later than 12:00-12:15am.
Promotions: For a number of months, Sunday's high hand promotion has been of the "turbo" format, with $300 awarded every (15) minutes from 2:00pm-9:00pm (rollovers apply). While that promotion is still in place this afternoon, there will be an extra six hours of "turbo" high hands, with $100 awarded every (10) minutes, from 8:00am-2:00pm (rollovers apply). However you break it down, it's $600 worth of high hands up for grabs over the span of (13) hours. Both tournaments are high hand eligible, adding even more appeal to the events.
