ICYMI: Friday's tournament action began at 11:00am, with a $100 No Limit Hold'em event, that ran without a posted guarantee. The "intimate" field would see registration close with (12) entries, and an official prize pool of $900. Two spots were scheduled to get paid, and it came as no surprise, that a deal was agreed to when that point was reached. Dauren Botabayev and Dana Leonaggeo chopped up the prize money, with the former being awarded first place money. Official results from the event are listed below:
- Dauren Botabayev (Sunny Isles, FL) $500
- Dana Leonaggeo (Pompano Beach, FL) $400
The headlining event of the day sat in the 6:00pm time slot, and was a $150 No Limit Hold'em tournament, that boasted a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool. After eight levels of open registration, the event would close with a field of (58) entries, of which (8) players were scheduled to grab a piece of the prize pool. Once the money bubble burst, and after the elimination of Joseph Quaider from the final table, the final seven players agreed to a deal. Noe Acosta (Deerfield Beach, FL) took home first place in the deal, which was worth $1,868. Official details of the deal (and full final table results) are posted below:
- Noe Acosta (Deerfield Beach, FL) $1,868
- Eugene Calden (Boynton Beach, FL) $1,560
- Kenneth Amaez (Boca Raton, FL) $1,535
- Cathy Josey (Pompano Beach, FL) $1,455
- Mike Spadafore (Boynton Beach, FL) $1,277
- Robert Transue (North Lauderdale, FL) $1,100
- Michael Gutterman (Delray Beach, FL) $845
- Joseph Quaider (Tamarac, FL) $360
Tournaments: There are three events on today's tournament schedule, all surrounding the $175 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD) multi. At 11:00am, the cards get in the air for the first starting flight of the event, which has a total of four flights over the next (48) hours. Flight 1A is structured with 16,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (20) minutes over the course of the event. Registration is open through Level 8 (and the break that follows), with play for the day scheduled to conclude after Level 18 (or if the 10% mark is reached before then). Players that bag chips will then return on Monday (September 3rd), for Day 2 at 12:00pm.
At 2:00pm, players have the opportunity to enter this weekend's multi, for just a fraction of the price. The $50 No Limit Hold'em Satellite into the $175 NLH ($50,000 GTD) guarantees (3) seats, and is structured with 10,000 unit starting stacks, with levels that last (15) minutes. Registration for the satellite is open through Level 8.
A short while after the satellite wraps up, the second flight of the $175 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD) gets underway. Flight 1B, which begins at 6:00pm, carries the same exact structure at the afternoon flight that ran before it.
Promotions: The day's promotions initially run from 10:00am-6:00pm, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes. During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.
It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand. The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
