Level 16 (Blinds 2,500/5,000/5,000)
Total Flight 1A Entries: 85
Flight 1A Players Remaining: 12

The tournament clock just transitioned to Level 16, with players now posting blinds of 2,500/5,000/5,000.  Play for the day is scheduled to stop at the conclusion of this level, or will pause if the field reaches eight players before that time.  When 10:00 minutes remain on the clock, the moving clock will be paused, and players will be informed of how many hands remain in the flight.  Once those hands are completed, the bags will be brought out, and remaining players will pack away their chips for Monday's Day 2.  Those interested in official chip counts from Flight 1A, can check the blog in just a short while, as they will be posted once made official by tournament supervisors.

Eric Kolodny (Miami, FL) came close to winning a multi earlier this year, and is setting himself up for another deep run in this Isle Open event.

As play enters it's final pair of levels (scheduled), Eric Kolodny (Miami, FL) has separated himself from the rest of the field, sitting with over 200,000 in Level 14.  Kolodny may be a name followers of the blog recognize, having taken second place money, in a three-way chop that ended February's $360 No Limit Hold'em $100,000 GTD.  The $15,720 earned for his share stands as his second largest tournament cash, amongst a resume that boasts earnings over $174,000.

Isle Open Event #3 (Flight 1A): Coming Off First Big Score, Ian Kramer Seeing Some Early Success

2018 Isle Open | Event #3
$100 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD)
Level 7 (Blinds 300/600/600)
Total Flight 1A Entries:

Ian Kramer (Aventura, FL) was just telling a story to his table mate, about the $100,000 GTD he just final tabled last month.

A player's first tournament cash is something they'll always remember, with Ian Kramer's (Aventura, FL) coming earlier this year.  During the $200 No Limit Hold'em $100,000 GTD that ran here at the Isle (back in May), Kramer recorded his first score, finishing in 92nd place ($395).  Then, just over a month ago, Kramer experienced his first sizable score, as he finished in seventh place during a $130 No Limit Hold'em event at Hard Rock ($100,000 GTD).  The final table finish was worth $6,959, bringing his lifetime earnings to $7,354.  Recapturing that magic would be an incredible feat for Kramer, who is off to a very strong stack this afternoon.  Ian has just over 75,000, and leads the field, heading to registration's close.

Ian Kramer - 76,000 (126bb)

Isle Open Event #3 (Flight 1A): Danielle Bastarache Adds To An Already Impressive Tournament Resume

Level 5 (Blinds 200/400/400)
Total Flight 1A Entries: 70

Danielle Bastarache (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) was a name we saw on the Event #1 payouts, that we hadn't seen in a while.  She's already back in action today, trying to bag chips for next Monday's Day 2.

Danielle Bastarache (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) is a South Florida local, with an impressive tournament resume, that boasts over $112,242.  After cashing in numerous events each year from 2012-2017, yesterday's Event #1 cash was just her third recorded result of 2018.  Danielle finished in 77th place yesterday afternoon, adding $450 to her overall number.  Danielle's career highlighting score came back in 2012, when she finished second in a $350 No Limit Hold'em Deepstack event during the Seminole Hard Rock Showdown ($84,137).

While Danielle's partner in crime isn't present in the field (tournament notable Michael Corbett), she is joined by:

Isle Open Event #3 (Flight 1A): Juan "JC" Madrid Parlays Satellite Entry Into Deep Event #1 Run...And Potentially More

2018 Isle Open | Event #3
$100 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD)
Level 3 (Blinds 100/200/200)
Total Flight 1A Entries: 51

Juan Madrid is an example of what makes satellites great, as he's turning a $50 satellite entry into Event #1, into buy-ins for the rest of the series (finished 14th place in Event #1 for $1,995).

Juan "JC" Madrid (Margate, FL) was featured during Event #1, having won his entry into the tournament, through one of the $50 No Limit Hold'em satellites that were run.  After bagging the eighth largest stack heading to Day 2, Madrid would run super deep, eventually finishing in 14th place.  The result was worth $1,955, which now stands as his second largest career cash.  Madrid's cash now affords him the ease to continue playing more Isle Open event, and he's wasted no time, already seated in this afternoon's Flight 1A field.

Madrid joins some other "early bird" entries into Flight 1A, including Alexander Perez (Miami, FL) and Thelman Schuman (Boca Raton, FL).

Isle Open Event #3 (Flight 1A): Second Week Of The Isle Open, Second $100,000 Guaranteed Multi

2018 Isle Open | Event #3
$100 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD)
Level 1 (Blinds 100/100)
Total Flight 1A Entries: 28

Less than (24) hours after wrapping up the first multi of the series (Event #1), a new one begins, with the cards about to fly for Event #3 of the Isle Open ($100 No Limit Hold'em $100,000 GTD).  This tournament has a whopping (14) flights, spread over the next seven days (Monday through Sunday), with players returning for Day 2 on Monday (12:00pm).

The tournament is structured with 16,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (25) minutes over the course of the event.  The late and re-entry period runs through Level 8 (and the break that follows), with the day scheduled to end after Level 16 (or if the 10% mark is reached).  The "chip lead bonus" returns for this event...and this event only...as the top two stacks (after all have been played), will a $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Isle Open Main Event seat.

Those that are interested in getting into this event for a fraction of the buy-in, can also count on $30 No Limit Hold'em satellites, run each of the next six days (at 3:00pm).

With (25) minute levels, the action during these opening flights moves pretty quickly, but we will be sure to offer sporadic updates throughout the day.

Monday, October 8th: Matthew Bretzfield Claims Yet Another Title, Top Seven-Way Chop Of Event #1

ICYMI: At 12:00pm yesterday afternoon, (114) players returned for Day 2 of Event #1 ($200 No Limit Hold'em $100,000 GTD).  From that number, (90) players would reach the money, with the money bubble bursting just over an hour into the day.  Bruce Kahn and Stanton Drazen were eliminated on the same hand (during hand-for-hand play), meaning they would split 90th place money (with Kahn getting $205, and Drazen $200).

From that point on, we saw players heading to the payout podium at a rapid pace, with the final table reached shortly before 8:00pm.  Between the bubble bursting, and the final table, we saw numerous Isle Poker notables record results for their resumes.  Former "November Niner" Neil Bluemenfield finished in 83rd place ($405), Danielle Bastarache followed shortly thereafter in 77th place ($450), Pedro Palacio bowed out in 54th place ($595), Andrew Daire (who was the short stack to begin Day 2) exited in 35th place ($770), with satellite winner JC Madrid just falling short of the final table in 14th place ($1,955).

The final table lineup would feature a lot of potential storylines, but none larger than that of Matthew Bretzfield (Kings Park, NY) reach that point.  His name was mentioned all through coverage of the event, and he must of felt the responsibility to perform, as he needed up taking first place (in a seven-way chop).  Official details from the final table are listed below:
  1. Matthew Bretzfield (Kings Park, NY) $16,932
  2. Danny Blackburn (Deerfield Beach, FL) $14,345
  3. Matthew Zarcadoolas (Pembroke Pines, FL) $14,078
  4. Fernando Halac (N. Miami Beach, FL) $14,241
  5. Peter Sayet (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $12,295
  6. Philip Consolo (Miami Shores, FL) $10,944
  7. Fariborz Zojaji (Miami, FL) $10,405
  8. Robert Campbell (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $3,950
  9. Carey Pickus (Palm Beach, FL) $2,965
  10. Allan Bieler (Sunrise, FL) $2,450
Just as Event #1 was winding down, players were preparing for Event #2, which was a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Turbo Bounty" ($5,000 GTD).  The tournament would end up attracting (44) entries, and saw registration close with an official prize pool of $3,900 (an $1,100 bounty pool).  Of the players that remaining after Level 10, (6) were schedule to reach the money.  There would be no deal-making though, as action played down an outright winner, with Jeffrey Kahn (Aventura, FL) besting Scott Bailey (Loxahatchee, FL) during heads up play.  Official results from the tournament are posted below:
  1. Jeffrey Kahn (Aventura, FL) $1,521
  2. Scott Bailey (Loxahatchee, FL) $897
  3. Patricia Basilio (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $546
  4. Anthony Vulpis (Pompano Beach, FL) $390
